Yes, my RL has hung on the 'powering down' a few times as well manually shutting it off. I've had that happen with my M360 as well too. It seems to be a special Escort 'feature'. If it does not turn off after a few just pull the power, no harm.So I have been on v1.7 for a couple of weeks and yesterday my Redline was very unhappy. It was a bit warm after driving for about 8 hours and so we went to power it off. The unit sat at "Powering Down" for about half an hour until we just unplugged it to get it to turn off. Anyone seen that happen? It hadn't done that prior to the update.
Yep. But that is the least of the problems with Escort Live.this is more of an escort live issue...but does anyone else experience a live notification on the detector, and then it will freeze on the detector screen, although the rd will keep detecting like normal?
You can change the mode. Just go to the settings menu, then detector settings.Maybe I'm missing it on the app, but would love the ability to change the mode in EL on my phone. My installer refused to install my RL360c on the left side of the mirror and it's a PITA to reach across to change modes on the detector.![]()
Go to the EL app, Inside the Radar settings will be settings for mode and the displayThanks. I was hoping to have something on the actual display though.
Mine did that as well with POP activated. I turned POP off and haven't had any issues. I don't think it matters anyway..this is more of an escort live issue...but does anyone else experience a live notification on the detector, and then it will freeze on the detector screen, although the rd will keep detecting like normal?
I've never had pop enabled and I got the same problem.Mine did that as well with POP activated. I turned POP off and haven't had any issues. I don't think it matters anyway..
The last time it happened to me I was sitting in my car eating some lunch, kept getting Ka alerts intermittently and when the alert would go away, I would get a live alert for Ka. Then the alert stuck on the screen. It was really weird.As @Rags is a aware I'm on my way 4th Escort and I've never had that happen to me....I guess I'm just lucky.
I've had major issues since the upgrade to 1.7 as well. It wouldn't show any front alerts at all, every hit was showing up as rear only. I did a 300 mile round trip from NYC to DE on the the NJ turnpike and came across numerous encounters. I got alerts that showed up as rear alerts when they were obviously front hits. The unit ramped up I saw and passed the trooper and it ramped down all with just a rear alert. Also the MRCD/MRCT alerts stopped working entirely. I live in NYC with hundreds of speed cameras and I got nothing. I sent it back to Escort for repair. It's coming back tomorrow. We'll see if they fixed it.One thing that I've definitely noticed with 1.7..is the arrows are definitely "wonky".....
I had 2 detections lately that the arrows stayed on the side all the way down the street when it was behind me. And this street was approx 1.5 miles! It would not go to the rear.
They definitely need some work
@JSherbondy
That happened to me as well - every alert would be the rear arrow, even if the threat was know and ahead of me. I was told the front horn went bad. Can't believe a relatively new detector would have a bad horn within the first 8-9 months but I have it back and it's been flawless since.I've had major issues since the upgrade to 1.7 as well. That's good to know. Hopefully they've fixed mine as well. We'll see in a day.That happened to me as well - every alert would be the rear arrow, even if the threat was know and ahead of me. As difficult as Escort can be to get a hold of and as silent as they may be on these forums, they have always taken care of me and backed their products 100% and I've had Escort products for over 20 years. Yours will be like new once you get it back.That's good to know. Hopefully they've fixed mine as well. We'll see in a day.
