I will love when my non radar enthusiasts get into my car and see my Theia... They are going to go wow he is so accomplished! Especially the single women! I will have to fight them off! ;)
Men want to be you..... women want to be with you.

Edit: took the “will” part out of it. Removes all doubt.

No idea what Theia will deliver, at least 1.35 is here today, a known quality.

Good answer.

I was just making sure you didn't plan on making this into yet another social media device for the wife.
Hey, speaking of devices for the wife...

@Jon at Radenso,

Is Theia going to have vibrate alerts?

Might make it an easier sell to the CFO of the household...

She might get a ticket for impeding traffic when she slows down to enjoy the kill zone.

None of us know how Theia's going to be. At best it will detect radar, have no falses, and cost at least twice as much as an R7. At 'not best' it will have its own compromises and not deliver on its promises.

As a regular guy who feels $1k is significant amount of cash (and who's married and doesn't have to worry about attracting single women who will swoon at the sight of Theia lol) even the 'at best' scenario would be a questionable value proposition given 1.35. Anything less than 'at best' would make getting a Theia a hard 'no'.

I see Uniden R7 1.35 and Theia as apples and oranges.
Will buying an apple make me less likely to buy an orange? Not likely.

Even the comparison: am I less likely to buy Theia given that Escort detectors already had auto lockout?

The tech is different and I will buy.

The R7 1.35 release has definitely made me more patient in the release of Theia and will allow me to wait to see the results of all the testing before I consider ordering. It has eliminated the chance of me buying a RL360C during the wait as I am very pleased with the detector (except for the arrow flipping!!!). I don't face MRCD on a daily basis, but I hope they can also get this issue worked out for those who do.

I was going to buy Theia on the as soon as I got notification. Now with 1.35, I will wait for the reviews. And then depending on what the reviews say . . . .

Reading through these threads......

Would be nice to see an updated message from the company as for some sort of reason as to why there has been no information shared since early December as we are well past the beginning of the new year (now into March). At least show the actual product in action....if production is a problem, that is understandable with getting parts and stuff. But, if the actual product itself it also not ready to go, then some type of messaging saying so.

I think they have indicated problems with suppliers in the past. I guess it really doesn't matter at this point. The eta was changed to end of this year. Same as it was last year at this time only it's shifted out another year. Given the broad time frame it seems reasonable that it's not going to be anytime soon. It may be more likely Uniden puts out another firmware update or two before a Theia is available.

I like a few others on here will probably wait for the reviews at this point as well as the bar has been set pretty high (best range/no falses). Plus I would rather wait a while to make sure it doesn't have some problem that results in high failure rates. Rather any kinks be worked out by the early adopters, especially at the highest price point for WM units. Also, want to see the physical size of it as well as the R7 footprint is about where I want to be or smaller.

They said it is going to be a little narrower than a Max360 and maybe a couple millimeters longer.

Oh, I did not realize it was pushed back until the end of 21. I thought their last official message was the video message from early December saying looking for more info at the start of the new year.

Our last video said that we have a parts supply issue and it will be sometime in 2021. As soon as we have updates, we will let everyone know. Thanks!

They just said it would be released in 2021. I’ve never seen them say the end of 2021.

In one thread they said part lead times went from 6 weeks to 6 months. Assuming that was a literal statement and lead times don’t increase further that would put the realease 4.5 months out from where it was. However we don’t know what the date was before other than by the end of 2020. I’ll put my WAG at not before May.
