I just downloaded. Do you know if my existing manual lockouts affect the new auto lockouts. Should I delete them all or just leave it and let the radar learn it. So far I haven't seen all my screen auto lock out only manual lockout from previous settings. Tomorrow will be my fourth time past the speed signs so I'm hoping it catches it. So instead of it saying mute memory in green... it should say auto lockout correct ???anyways thank you I'm excited
From what I've seen discussed, if you have something manually locked out, the auto lockout functionality ignores it instead of using the auto lockout algorithm on it. This is likely to save memory.

I deleted all my manual lockouts and am going to have to deal with some K-band falsing for a few days until the auto lockout learns those locations.

The arrows when you pass a leo is so delayed on 1.35 it’s funny. I have seen it twice on KA now. Instead of pinpointing, it shows forward, pass the radar trap and a hundred yards later it finally changes to rear. I like 1.35 overall but arrows lost some smarts. The KA notification is very far!

Yes. I have seen this. They need to make an adjustment to the Arrows. I am sure they will.

I'm doing the same thing.

Just had my first Auto Mute Memory or Lockout. It is a K band speed sign. The speed sign is facing South to get North bound traffic. I was about a quarter mile away driving North on a perpendicular road traveling West. The Auto Mute Memory (Lockout) sounded and the K band is now gray on screen. Now as Vortex pointed out, I made a left toward the speed sign. As I got to about an eight mile away it alerted. It was no longer locked out.

So they need to work on the radius for sure and I assume that when I drive by that speed sign later today it will then lock out the part that wasn't locked out before. We'll see...

From post #3 in this thread, of items changed in firmware 135....

8. Pass chime(one beep) is added to the POI alert. The R7 will announce a pass chime when the car passes the camera (POI) in the database.

This is actually starting to get really annoying. It makes the chime even if you're above quiet ride speeds, so driving on a highway above a number of RLCs = chime... chime... chime... STFU R7

With the improvements in this update swaying my decision I just ordered the R7 and a Blendmount. I will be moving my Max 360C to the wife’s car to replace an IX that has become nothing more than a BSM announcer. Hoping for a pleasant experience.

If your wife is anything like mine, she will enjoy the upgrade.
More warning range plus quieter with AutoLockouts.
My wife is in love with her Pro M, but when I get in with it I'm annoyed.
She doesn't touch it, locks out nothing.
Won't change a setting, if my daughter gets annoyed and goes to hit mute my wife will freak "don't touch it!"
The need for fully automated RD with exceptional filtering is glaringly obvious.
She will get the Cobra DualPro 360 (Max 360 sibling) when I'm done playing around with it.

Personally, the auto lockout feature really isn't working as well (and it is not as polished) as it should be. As a RL360C and V1G2/JBV1 owner, I'm underwhelmed with the auto lockout feature on my R7. Three passes within 24-hours? Increase your sensitivity to get the best results? You must be close to the auto locked out signal before it actually works?

Maybe if you've never had auto lockouts on your RD this would be fine, but for V1G2/JBV1 & RL360C owners it misses the mark by a wide margin.

I know that version 1.35 is what R7 owners have impatiently been waiting for, but maybe Uniden should have taken just a little while longer to iron out this implementation (and address these known issues) to put in on par with the other top tier detectors. :hmm:

I think that saying Uniden should have taken more times, misses the real issue. They should have used their time that they used better. It took way too long, whether done well or not. Then to add that it was not done well is just ridiculous. Seems like whoever works on the updates works part time or something and takes a lot of time off.

I think Uniden will have to increase the lockout radius to 400 - 600 meters, from the current 200 for the AutoLockouts to work better. And the amount of seconds of signal aquired to register as a source.
Too many operating variables with such a pinpoint location for this to get it perfect every time.

The amount of time and passes, while longer than Escorts time to lockout, does prevent more accidental ones from LEOs or BSMs. With the extra sensitive R7 this may be more important in the implementation. I've noticed some really excessive lockout behaviours from Escorts, while sometimes just right. I think Escorts prioritize the quiet experience over maximum protection.
No easy please everyone solution to that part I think.

Providing that Uniden was made aware of the issues by beta testers.

They acknowledged that auto lockouts are a work in progress and they are currently working to improve them so I wouldn’t write them off too soon.
I’m happy they released it to RDF so that we can use the improvements to the BSM filters and try out the auto lockouts.
I suspect that this release may never hit the official support site for public download and really I think that is a great way for them to get additional feedback before they publish a final release to their site.
They get additional “beta” testers, we get features before the general public, and we are our own tech support should someone decide the latest release isn’t for them. Uniden let’s you roll back firmware which ultimately means that everyone who wants to stay on the early release can, and everyone else can stay on an older version. As unlikely as it is, I’d love to see them adopt this RDF first release schedule

I was given permission to release the firmware with Auto Lockouts.

Here you go.... Enjoy
Nice! I ordered an R7 last night. Looks like I will be doing some updating when it gets here. Be nice if it was as easy to update as my RL360c and V1G2 but no.

I miss Kuni. Seemed like as soon as he left Uniden, the updates stopped or aren’t as good as they were with him there. Give him back Jonny! 😂

There is one bug with this existing firmware and it will be corrected in a future update:

Once an area is locked out and the user passes through the area again, the stored area is slightly smaller. So, as you enter the locked out area, there could be an alert for a moment (Not Always) then the signal gets locked out.

No need to report this as its already known but instead of waiting for another firmware update we figured it was long overdue so releasing the current version as is and will release another update in the future.
@jestric The beta testers are the voice of Uniden in this case.

OK. Took another ride. This time I took a road to the South of the Speed sign. I am driving West perpendicular to the Speed sign facing South on the road I am about to reach. Once I got to the top of the road, I hear the K tone then it Auto locked out. I made a right toward the speed sign. I passed the speed sign. I turned around to go back toward the speed sign. Signal is still locked out as expected. Same as before.. about and eighth mile from the speed sign it alerted again. I guess I will need to make a third pass to see if this pass will Auto lock this area. Stay tuned...

FYI... I am not complaining :) I am posting my results. I am happy with the progress. Escort didn't get it right at first either.

Although this could be true, I think that between the lawsuit and everything else going on they probably did as well as they could.

Some things to keep in mind about how Uniden lockouts work.
With a strong signal like a speed sign, you will have to lockout from both directions (possibly 4 if at a crossroads) because of the way it works.
Lockout point is a small radius area about 200 meters, and where that happens depends on variables like your speed, sensitivity settings, weather, etc. Then it holds the Mute until signal drops off.
A strong source is never one and done on the R Series. See this thread as to why...

FYI, my Escorts vary their radius from 800 to 1.2 kms, and frequencies from +/- 0.010 to all of K band. It's a bag of crazy cats trying to figure out what the detector will do with any given source. But it will gaurantee quiet, more so than gaurantee protection. And manual lockouts behave different than than the auto ones.
Be careful of what we wish for...
