I've been using a MAX360 along with waze for the past year now in my s4. Looking into using the highway radar app as well.

Hoping to get an alp system at some point but being in colorado they are not legal sadly.

Side note, would I see much gain from upgrading to a v1g2 alongside jbv1? Most of the driving I do is highway and a lot of mountain driving on i70.

Thanks!

Hello @BurnAllTheMk1s and welcome aboard RDF!

WRT your question about if you would see much gain from upgrading to a V1G2 and JBV1, you'll get longer range, better false alert filtering, RDD immunity, and integrated Bluetooth with support for cell phone apps. JBV1 adds the icing to the cake.

Welcome to the forum. Can't help ya on the upgrade but I know the V1G2 is highly praised on here especially using Jbv1. I'm sure you will get tons of feedback from the very helpful members on here.

@BurnAllTheMk1s , Welcome to the Forum from Tennessee!! If you face a lot of Ka band radar in your highway driving and mountain driving in CO, as @jestric mentioned, you should see a improvement in off axis performance and warning range such as in hilly and curvy terrain. The BSM filtering is also very good on the V1G2.

I own both a Max360c (similar in performance to your Max360) , a V1G2, and Redline 360c. The V1G2 is awesome and would be ideal for the challenging highway and terrain you likely encounter. The V1G2 shines and excels on Ka-band, and is good against K-band, just not as spectacular as it is against Ka band.

I personally have noticed a significant step up in performance from my Max360c to the V1G2 especially on Ka band. My Max360c is no slouch, but the V1G2 definitely cranks it up several notches. I am planning on selling my Max360c soon since I now have my RL360c and V1G2.

Welcome, the V1G2 is a significant upgrade for the G1. Just because jammers are illegal, doesn't mean you can't run them--just use a quick/proper Jam to Kill(JTK). When done properly, you will not draw suspicion.

Welcome to the forum @BurnAllTheMk1s. Glad to have you join us. As @jestric and @RoadDogg mentioned, you should see a performance upgrade if you decide to move to a V1G2. As a general rule, the consensus here is that the Uniden R7, Escort Redline360, and V1G2 are at the top of the performance ladder. It just depends on whether you want to invest in a new detector at this point.

Welcome to the forum! I personally run the R7 and have found it to be very good for Ka detection. From the numbers that I have seen though the V1G2 is even better. Either way, you can’t go wrong with one of the higher end detectors.

Thank you all for all the great information! I am definitely going to keep an eye out for a used v1g2. I really like my max360, don't get many false ka but do get a lot of false k and the police out here do use it so thats annoying.
