I purchased a 2017 Porsche 911 C2S Cabriolet a few months ago and have been using an Escort Max WS unit on a Blend mount since purchase until I figured out what Laser jammer and ? WS vs Custom installed Radar detector unit to buy and have installed...

My local installer recently told me about the Stinger system and he's installed a half a dozen recently and thinks it's a pretty good system.

Previously I had decided to use an ALP laser jammer system either with: 1. Radenso Theia (when avail), 2. Radenso RC M, or 3. Net Radar DSP.

I really like that the Stinger System has a nice display/controller, and that the laser jammers are very small and would be easy to conceal for a stealth install....

HOWEVER, looking on the Forum at people's experience with previous Stinger products and (lack) of customer support and response to issues on previous products has me concerned and very nervous to purchase...

Are there any users here with the most recent product and had good or bad experience with it?

I see that K band false alerts was a major issue on previous products... has this been corrected on this most recent version??

THANKS IN ADVANCE for any and all feedback!!

Thanks @sdrawkcaB

Anyhow, I still run Stinger VIP with Freedom laser integrated.. It serves me quite well, I've had a lot of saves, thus far it's never let me down from Poliscan cameras to hand held lasers.
That said I don't face any dragon guns here, so I can't comment on performance of it vs Dragon eye lidars.

There has only been one test done of Stinger laser vs Dragon which @Vortex did, the Stinger tested quite well against once the sensors were properly aligned.

The VIP's K band filtering is less than great it drives me insane so I dive with it off, though it's as good as anything else on KA.

If you want the absolute king, get an ALP (long live the king), if you want something pretty close but has insane stealth characteristics get Stinger.
Software wise there have been two Stinger updates released in the last 12 months.

Thanks for the update @Dragons!

Bummer to hear about the K band filtering. I'm still running the older HD (not HD+) and also find the BSM filtering to be excessive. It falses SIGNIFICANTLY more than other modern detectors, like it's not even close. I was hoping the HD+ would be better, but given that you shut off K band altogether, I guess not.

As for the laser fibers, I recently sent mine over to @SquirrelMaster for additional testing. I'm waiting to Stinger to get the new strip display so he can run the jammers standalone instead of plugging them into the VIP. Once we get that, he'll be able to test and get us some more data. :)

Good point I didn't mention, I'm still running with an HD, though I did have an HD+ on loan for a while it was a little hotter on KA, no difference on K.

When you say no difference on K, do you mean in terms of performance or BSM filtering?

@Vortex and @Dragons ...

Thank you so much for your input! disappointing to hear the excessive K band falses with these Stinger units... if that wasn't an issue then I'd prolly just go ahead and get it as I don't think we have Dragon eye laser in Kansas City as far as I know... We occasionally do have LEO's running K-band so I wouldn't want to turn it off... :(. Maybe I should look more towards either the RC-M and ALP or just wait for Theia and get ALP heads (as I read they are going to incorporate ALP control with the Theia? Would rather run a custom installed unit rather than a WS unit, but if I didn't have to listen to falses all the time, then I guess it would be worth it...

Think I need to do more research on the RC-M (if it filters out falses well or not)...

Did I see somewhere that the Theia is not going to be WS mounted or Blend mount capable for mounting and need to sit somehow on the dash??

I have one nice item to share with Stinger users.

I am now in the UK and was receiving frequent hits on K band (24.094 - 24.098 range) from my MB anti-collision radar, which due to the narrow roads and heavier traffic etc. was being activated frequently, even though the car's interior driver warning system was not being activated. (My driving is not that bad!)
Anyway, I reached out to Stinger; they requested that I record my experiences and send them the electronic details. I have received back a new update program, which they are still tweeking before offficial release and it has solved my anti collision activations from my vehicle.

All this to say that Stinger is working quietly in the back ground to resolve user problems. Thanks

This is not accurate. Radenso hasn’t said anything of the sort, that I am aware of.

DragonEye guns have been confirmed in the KC metro area, I’ve seen it multiple times here on the forum. Definitely go with ALP.

Great! That may have been a deal breaker for me so I'm glad to hear it was false....
