Just got the Max360c delivered and initial thoughts without going for a drive. Build quality is nice but is it a big boy. Compared to my R3 it is quite a bit larger. Thank heavens for blendmount so it doesn't look too unsightly

That's what happens when you add a second antenna, a larger display, and directional arrows...a lot of stuff that need to fit into that case. You'll love it I'm sure, theMax360 is a great detector. I've had mine since they came out and it's one of my favored detectors.

Escort in General makes Heavier units. Hopefully the quality is their when it comes over time and temperatures. The R7 is lighter than the Escort 360 product lines. As for the display, they are not bigger, especially against the R7.

I am using the DP360 and the Max360c on loaner, for short period and has to go back to it's owner :bang: ... I had to make a 3D print of the Mag Mount and it fits on the R Series windshield mounts that I have. Does well overall, and no window dropage, do to weight of either.

For the Max360c, just be careful in areas if you drive into VA. It has a Spectre read up to 400ft. R3 is much lower.

Yeah I'm taking a trip down to BWI this weekend and we will see how it does on that trip. Another reason to hold onto the R3 is for any trips that I may need to make to VA or the DC area

Okay a little update on the 360c after taking the drive from Philly to BWI last weekend. I ran it with Escort Live on my phone and got some Ka alerts from Escort Live and it did well with the speed cameras. However, there were multiple times it did not alert to cops that were in the median on the interstate. This was a bit disappointing since it was a straight line of sight and it should have reported but it is possible they were just sitting there with no radar on. A caveat to add here is that this was in the middle of an ice storm so maybe he was there just to respond to any accidents.

Another thing that I have noticed and do not know if this is normal is that the detector will pick up a signal but the screen will take a beat or two before it shows the alert on the screen. I will continue to monitor performance but thus far it doesn't seem to be as confidence inspiring as the R3

Where I am that is typical, especially if not the best weather. I have passed about a dozen LEO's lately on the parked highway and around town, only one LEO in town had their radar on and they were so far back in a parking lot as it was just 'left on'. The others on the highway were not in positions to run radar or laser either.

What 'mode' are you running in? Spec, Spec FR1, Spec FR2, etc? When set to Spec FR2 the 360 series (non-RL) has a 'delay' is showing the graph. If you run FR1 it will display as soon as the alert comes though.

IF the LEO were sitting there taking doughnut break, no radar paperwork time, or whatever, I find EL users to be lazy. They typical will not manually report a cop location on EL. Which is easy to do. That, for me is why you did not see EL police spotted pin (which looks different than pin picture of radar gun and band.

I was surprised by the size and weight of the RL360c when I unboxed it January 13th. I quickly mounted it high and to the left of the RVM and so far that big "Sticky Cup" is hanging tight.

I should find out tomorrow! My R360c arrived in Atlanta early this am.

So an update. I have decided to return the Max360c for the price I don't feel as though the performance is up to snuff. The auto lockouts seemed to be hit or miss for me and I did get a lot of BSM falses even with K Notch. I think I'm gonna give the RL360c since it seems like Escort is paying a bit more attention to that product and it seems to have gotten much better since launch and it is available on Crutchfield while the V1G2 is on backorder

For what it's worth I own all 4. For my driving area my M360 was considerably quieter on BSM's than my R3, however the R3 is no doubt more sensitive as many tests have shown. Keep in mind until the R3 the M360 was the top unit that had great BSM filtering that was on the market, and until the R7 was the only one with arrows.

As for the RL360c, you are going to pick up greater sensitivity, but at a cost to reactivity. The M360 and R3 blow away the RL in reactivity. The G2 can't be beat for Ka sensitivity and reactivity, however VR has issues with K-band reactivity as well.

If you liked your R3 I might suggest going with the R7 as that still has the same or greater performance than the R3 without having to make the reactivity sacrifice that the RL360c and G2 currently exhibit.

The R7's latest firmware has improved BSM filtering and now supports auto-lock outs. The biggest complaint I have seen has to do with accurate arrows with the latest firmware, however the RL360c arrows are not much better currently. The G2 by far as the more accurate and fastest transitioning arrows.

Whatever you end up going with I hope you enjoy and feel free to post your thoughts on the new unit as well!

Yeah it had been a little bit since I drove with the R3 in the car and took a drive this past weekend with it and was reminded of how good the range really is. I have considered potentially getting the R7 and the V1G2 since both combined would be basically the price of an RL360c. Some of the things I'm considering are that most of my local driving is in PA where a RD is essentially useless since local police are not allowed to use radar for speed enforcement. Where I really get the use would be on interstates in PA, NJ and NY where there is definitely a mix of Ka and K band. In the part of NY I go to, it's almost exclusively C/O Ka but I do need something that will react to K band when I'm on the PA turnpike here.

Another though is that I will be going to be making some trips to VA more regularly and RDD immunity could become important which is where the RL and V1G2 gain the advantage.

I'll keep an eye on the R7 prices though since it seems they are all over the place and recently dipped below $400. If I catch it at that price, I wouldn't mind having that as a backup.

I've switched from my Escort products to the R7 and haven't looked back.

Decided to try out the V1G2. Now just the waiting game begins which admittedly I struggle with when it comes to toys
