Just got the uniden r7.So far it seems pretty awesome.I used to buy only escort or beltronics detectors until I started following vortex and his videos.I didn't feel like spending 749.95 when I can get just as good a detector and even better long range detection with the r7.I still have my original escort redline I use to travel through Virginia so it can"t be detected.

9500ix , it was a great RD but lots of BSM false detection. I then bought the escort 360 (not wifi) and returned it within a few weeks, it was one of the worst RD I have ever owned. I would be able to see the cop car before it would go off and this happened many times over my test with it. I would carry the 9500ix with me in the car and compare them from day to day , and the 360 would always let me down (to bad because I really wanted it to work) I have always had escort since I was 17,, 55 now. So I went with R7 after researching and going on Vortex.
Been very happy so far can't wait till r7 update's

Welcome to the forum @jeff20101. Great choice on the R7. Uniden probably offers the best bang for the buck these days and whether you get an R7, V1G2, or Redline 360c, they all perform well.
Thanks for the welcome to rd forum.I must say I have learned alot from Vortex and thats why I bought the r7.I also bought an r3 just for a backup being that the range is almost the same as the r7.So far I'm happy with both.Just installed the new 135 download into the r7 and still waiting to see how well the auto lockouts work.

Hello and welcome to the Forum from Colorado. I have few detectors but not yet an R7. It's only a matter of time before I can't put it off and buy one.
