Average speed cameras - Operating in Auckland

Hi Everyone,

I got an average speed camera alert from my Escort Max 360C and I thought I would share the following information I have found following a subsequent search..

About the trial​

The average speed camera trial will commence in early 2019 at two locations in Auckland:

1. The Waterview Tunnels
2. The Southern Motorway at Papakura

Check out Aliexpress for that very thing. Just don't get caught. And bear in mind, that a camera operator can still get you ticketed for not displaying a plate.

Wasn't there a toll road in Utah that had something like this. Until they discovered people were specifically going there to top their cars out because it wasn't patrolled by humans. They would just park for a few minutes before they got to the terminus.

I just love the snotty "for your own good" tone of the narrator. Is there an explanation as to how the people who kept learning and expanding their body of knowledge all the way from the Middle Ages to the Apollo missions have become such idiotic wussies?

This was a trial, which we understood only ran for a few months and as yet hasn't been continued. We know Aucklanders were getting photographed inside the tunnel, but we also know Redflex is detectable in there too right now.

As for plate flippers, the rumour is speed cameras can still "see" your rego tag on the front windscreen.
