I also drive in Auto and updated last week. It seemed to me like BSM was better - a bit better. But it's hard to compare this way - too unscientific and error prone and some of it could just be expectation vs reality.
Had a 2.5 hour round trip today....only K-band BSM's that were picked up were from 3 CRV's - close full I/O like alert. No other BSM's got through on that drive.
Yeah, what i've noticed is, having k turned on, has no bearing on which segments show turned on or off. whatever segments were on, will still be on, off will still be off, etc. common sense says, just like ka...turning on k, means turning on all of k segments.
Weird, K notch was still enabled for me after updating. In any case I agree, arrows and ramp up could still use a bit more tweaking. I’ve got a Ka source about every other day coming come that I’ve never spotted but I get a full on alert as I approach a slight hill that tapers off slowly until I crest it at which time it ramps directly back to full then the side arrows start jumping from side to front to side couple more times before finally going to rear. Fwiw.@DC Fluid, that's a great suggestion. I had to re-enable K Notch after the upgrade to 1.6 and didn't put it together as potentially being related at the time.

Turned on the R360c and went through the settings. The KNotch was on where I left it, so all good for me. That having been said, maybe it is just new vehicles hitting the road, but the BSM filtering is not living up to the promises. It is a more noisy unit than I hoped for. But I am addicted to the detection range. : )
Thanks for noisy observations.. what is your benchmark RD that is more quiet? Not a challenge. I keep eyeing the RL 360c after reading most of the good reports. However, I have a RL EX gathering dust. Not sure @EscortRadar will ever make people’s investment in the EX whole. I would like your comparison to any of the following you have (that I do too). R3/R7, G2, any of the ER Max 360 devices, Pro M.

Good question @DrHow - Full disclosure, I am not benchmarking against other units, I am benchmarking against the rollout claims from Escort - mainly one item in the marketing - "No false alerts - Ever." or something close to that claim. I just think that they set the expectation very high that BSM would be a thing of the past. So far, it is pretty good on this unit, but far from perfect. I do live near a number of dealerships and the test drive "path" is a loop around my area, so I frequently am near new vehicles hitting the road.

Well, I will say this, the R360c has come a long way from the introduction day and it was all done with firmware updates. Covid is no excuse for many failings of companies, but I have been pleasantly surprised at how the detector has improved over time. One kind of reality that I am sure you are aware of - being a hobbyist means I am sometimes too picky about each and every failing of a consumer device. What finally put you over the line to trigger the return?

The Redline, in present form, creates more noise then the V1G2.
I run an escort (sorry now the model escapes me but it’s a bit older mid tier) an escort max 360 and a redline 360c in my own car and I can attest that the RL360 is by a good measure less chatty that the other two especially with segmentation and k-notch but it isn’t perfect and certainly no where near as good as their marketing claims. That said, I never had any expectation that would be the case, it’s pretty good but short of AI on the level Theia is aiming for I don’t know how one would ever get to a point of “no false alerts, ever”. That’s just not how the physics of radio works. IMHO
