What’s New in Firmware v1.6

Cedar Electronics is happy to announce the release of version 1.6 firmware. It will be available later this morning (1/20/21) around 10:30 am EST. We continue to listen to what our customers have to say and have implemented several improvements with this newest release. For those of you wondering how we went from version 1.4 to version 1.6, that is because we had several changes in between for development purposes and testing. We are continuing to work on new improvements (for the Redline 360c and other models) such as arrow performance for a future release. We will endeavor to have the next update out sooner to you.

Enhancements:
  • Improved radar detection response time. Response time improvements may vary on geographical and environmental conditions.
  • Improved accuracy and sensitivity for MRCD and MRCT.
  • Fixed an issue with missing text in Spanish Language, where preferences could hang up when using the K-Notch programming option.
  • Improved meter ramp-up linearity.
  • Improved arrow performance.
  • Improved strong signal handling capability.

How to Get the Update

If you are taking advantage of the Wi-Fi connection in your vehicle or have access to Wi-Fi, you will be prompted for the update once it becomes available. If you are not able to access Wi-Fi, you can connect your Redline 360c to your computer via USB (https://www.escortradar.com/pages/update-your-device). There are two different links on the page depending on if you are using Windows or Mac OS.

Keep the Feedback Coming

We want to keep hearing from you! If you have feedback or suggestions on how to make the Redline 360c even better, send an email to [email protected].

Just loaded v1.6 and a few early observations.

First, attempted to update firmware with both DT(Mac) and DTPro(Windows). Received update errors on both when pressing the update button on the main screen of the Mac or Windows versions. However I did successfully update to v1.6 by selecting the "Update All Software" under the Device tab of DTPro (Windows). So, if you have any update errors, try this. Don't forget to power up for the update to take effect.

Secondly, seems bluetooth and wifi settings are lost from updating so you need to re-pair/reconnect. It took a few attempts to re-pair bluetooth; and each time I had to delete the bluetooth profile in phone settings. The third attempt was successful.

Plan to test drive later.....more to come.

Thanks again Escort

Updated mine just now - everything went smoothly - did an 'update all' - Yes, had to remove the RL from the BT in the phone and EL and re-pair but that is quick and easy.

The patch notes sound promising, as does the version jump from internal testing. Looking forward to see what others have to say about the changes. Thanks for the communication, I'm sure we all appreciate it a lot.

Just updated mine. I also had to re-pair it as it wouldn't connect via Bluetooth, but that was easily remedied by deleting it from my phone and pairing it again.

Haven't driven around with it yet to test it out.
