Trying to update the DP360 via Detector Tools software and it’s updating to V1.2 but when I click on “update your detector with latest firmware” tab it proceeds to update the firmware once again instead of getting the YOU ALREADY HAVE THE LATEST FIRMWARE message that I used to see with the Escort detectors performing similar updates.

Is V1.2 the latest for the DP360? Sorry for the long paragraph.

The Escort Cobra homepage is strangely devoid of information regarding current firmware versions. They seriously need to publish release notes.

Yes 1.2 is current.
Odd problem you're having.
You can force it to reload the current firmware through the drop down tab.
If you just stick with the big buttons on the updater home screen that allows you to choose firmware or database then it gives you the message you're up to date.
Make sure to have the latest version of Detector Tools loaded on your computer.
I did what you did using the drop-down tab to force a reload on the Max 3.

@DC Fluid You’re suggestion worked. Thanks a lot man! Now when I press the update software tab - it says software up to date!

Only ran with this thing for about an hour today so my experience thus far is very early based but damn is this thing quiet around town. Couldn’t believe it compared to previous detectors I’ve recently ran (V1G2 and Redline 360). Yes it’s less noisy than BOTH those RDs! I’m starting to believe what someone mentioned in another thread - that “K-Notch” is probably baked in the current firmware and default enabled. That’s the only logical explanation of how quiet this thing is to BSMs.

Also the tones is probably my favorite thing about the DP360. Brought me back to my STi Magnum days.

I couldn’t be more pleased with this purchase. Paired quickly with the iRadar app and set it up in a matter of seconds.

This is easily my favorite RD right now. Plenty of range; looks and feels great; perfect tones; quiet like a church mouse around town; and all the bells and whistles of detectors $250-$350 more!

I’m a Cobra Elite series believer!

Well, damn!
That's some pretty high end comparisons you have there!
I've give Auto mode a few tries this week, right into my big box parking lot K Band cesspools.
When I switch back to highway mode you can see the signals Auto filtered out.
But on Highway it's still damn quiet.
Glad you're enjoying it and I'm stoked to hear more about what you think after running V1G2 and RL360c.
That's a tough crowd to face off against.
Definitely the DualPro has some great appeal for and a great deal for the price!

Obviously both the V1 and the Redline will have superior in-axis and off-axis range. No doubt about that but as I’ve said in other threads, there’s more to a great RD than just “range.”

The Redline 360 suffers from quick trigger reactivity and driving in heavy I/O areas, this is a huge setback in my case and until Escort addresses this issue - I can’t recommend or personally use the Redline.

And the V1G2 is great. Probably the best detector currently on the market. But to achieve great BSM filtering like the DP360 - you must run an app (V1 Driver or JBV1). Otherwise it will light up like a Christmas tree. I prefer running app-less.

I’m hoping in about a week or so I’ll get to really put the DP360 in the testing washer! I have a 300+ roadie coming up and it will be the only RD I’ll be using that day. Somehow I have a feeling it will pass with flying colors.

For anything hesitating picking up this thing...... folks this is NOT your typical Cobra Radar Detector! Get that thought out of your head. LOL.

Just wait after driving your regular areas for a while, and Autolocking makes it even quieter!
I've actually turned off the Cruise Alert feature for now as I want to hear it make noises, for dash cam videos, the cool Bel tones, and it's still freaking quiet, only real alerts sounding out.
4 weeks of it being my main detector, maybe 4 BSMs total.

And to think that all of this interest in the Cobra DP 360 started with @Cobra Kai touting its capabilities.

It makes me wonder if he's actually a mole planted by Cobra to participate on RDF??? :hmm: ;)
Or a typical overstimulated newbie with his first ever toy! ;)

@L4D44 and @Cobra Kai and @DrHow and @Bossdad71 and others following.

It's nice to have validation of our personal perceptions and testing, that other people can replicate results and experiences in completely different cities and circumstances.

I've put myself out there pumping up the DualPro and it could end up with egg on my face, so it's quite a relief to hear happy stories back from other owners, not a lot out there yet for Cobra flagship detector.

So thanks for the comments and check in once in a while to see if the honeymoon period lasts into a happy marriage! :D

My supposition: I do Not believe the K band notch is baked into FW and always on. My GT 360 is still on 1.000000000. Yes, the first FW...
never let update system touch it It IS better on BSM than anything in my inventory. Without major reactivity issues. Unless Cobra people did something that is not needed IMO, notch is not secretly turned on.

For me, I have been a quiet but consistent poster here related to the GT 360 exploits. Since this model was a dead duck, plus my rep, most people did not give much time on those posts. I too am happy to hear that the follow on Cobra DP 360 is working for you all. Especially @DC Fluid who has been a staunch supporter of R series (rightfully so). Takes a bunch of good overall performance by the DP to add it to his stable of daily driver devices.

My wife wants to retire her Pro M, and get something like the GT (more quiet, like the tones, 360 degree awareness (she likes the dual signal strength and small arrows. All the “blinking” of separate arrows with other systems is annoying to her), auto lockouts, manual lockout via cigar lighter, (the Pro M is PIA compared dealing with manual lockouts in traffic/metro driving). she likes the look of the GT 360 over the 360 or 360c. Maybe I will give her the GT. Or give her a fresh DP..... Wonder if I can transfer saved database of lockouts curated over extensive time on the GT to a new DP. If so, shazam... instant karma of fixed false location cup of noodles elimination.

Does being a Cobra elite series believer mean you have to talk in that silly Cobra Commander voice like in the GI Joe cartoon series?

Hey! I’m not just a “believer” - I’m also a Cobra Elite Member! And yes I’m perfecting my Cobra Commander voice as we speak!

If I didn’t personally test out the DP360 myself - I would have thought that you, @DC Fluid and @Cobra Kai were exaggerating it’s “quietness.”

But damn, after 2 days of driving around my area I’m truly amazed how quiet this RD truly is - even looking up to check if I powered it on or not.

I got alerted to a couple of store door sensors and after a third pass it automatically locked it out and not a peep anymore.

Previously using the R7 and the V1G2, the display works always light up (had it auto mute @ a certain speed threshold so no volume notification) but they would always go off visually - which is annoying too sometimes. Not with the DP360 though. Abs this is the first RD that my wife actually didn’t complain about those “annoying beeps.” 🤣

I honestly don’t understand how quiet it is to BSM vehicles if it doesn’t have K-Notch somehow enabled behind the scenes?

I can attest that there is no K Notch totally blocking out that frequency range.
In my first few days of ownership, I got a few beeps that I suspect may have been BSM in heavy intersection traffic, or a door opener bounce, right in the 24.20x range.
Not a peep since then despite trying really hard to provoke a response from any typical BSM emitting vehicles I could find.
Only yesterday did I get a faint Mazda 24,125 at point blank range on highway mode, pulling up to traffic at a light.
Cruise alert allowed 2 beeps then muted for a few seconds then it was gone as I passed by.

K Notch doesn't totally block out a range. It reduces sensitivity by about 30dB for a small range. So you'll get punch through for strong signals.

Understood, I'm just not sure this is the case with the DualPro. (That is a hidden K Notch program)

You guys definitely have me interested in purchasing one for my wife's car.
I can't think of anything better for price and performance for a large segment of the population.
No fuss, just works, and stylish.
She will never complain you got arrows and she didn't.

A used max360 is cheaper than a new DP 360. What's the comparison like there?

They are essentially the same unit. The case looks a good bit different and the screen graphics are different. The direction arrows are more legible on the Max 360 though.
