I had a short bit tonight to finish off the second half of the the reactivity testing, Ka this time! (Stalker 34.7)
Max 360 settings for all tests:
Highway, TSR Off, X Band Off, MRCT/D Off
RL360c setting that did not change:
Highway, TSR Off, X Band Off, MRCT/D Off - K on with all K segments on
Test #1
RL360c - Ka Seg 5 only ON
As expected from my prior tests the RL360c beats the M360 every time with the RL just scanning one segment.
Test #2
RL360c - Ka Seg 2/5/8
This is how the RL ships from Escort - This is about dead even with the M360 for reactivity. You never know if one will pick it up and the other will just miss it or if they both will catch it.
Test #3
RL360c - Ka 2/4/5/6/8
Ideally this is how I would like to run the RL to catch drifting guns as I do drive into upstate NY where they are more common. Adding 4/6 slows the RL down enough where the M360 will beat it every time until long trigger pulls are given.
Test #4
RL360c - Ka ON - All Ka segments On
This is the most 'Apples to Apples' test as the Max is scanning All K band and Ka bands as well. The M360 is the clear winner again, and you can tell the RL is slowing down further with the additional segments added.
No surprises here as this is what I have encountered running these units independently when testing as well.
On a positive note, when reviewing the footage slowly I noticed that the moment the RL alerts the arrow/direction is displayed instantly with no delay. The M360 has an arrow delay and requires a few to display it. This is the reason I run FR1 on the M360, as it shows the strength on the graph front/rear to be able to tell the direction before the unit can assign a light to an arrow. Escort did a great job with the arrow reactivity upon signal detection on the RL360c.
