I have made a number of comments in regard to the slow reactivity of the RL360c vs my M360. I finally had time to shoot a few example videos of what I see, and why my RL360c is still tucked away in the original box awaiting a firmware update for improvements before it is worthy of time on my windshield.....

I shot five videos only changing setting on the RL360c to show the difference.

RL360c on the left - M360 on the right - Bushnell was facing into the air off the side of the deck, perpendicular to the RD's.

M360 settings for all videos:
Highway - K On, Ka On, TSR Off - MRCT/D Off, X Off, Laser On, K-Notch Off

RL360c setting that did not change were:
Highway, TSR Off, MRCT/D Off, X Off, Laser On, K-Notch Off

Video #1 - RL 360c - 'Factory Ka' - K on, Ka 2/5/8,
The first 4 were quick pulls of the trigger which the M360 caught every time, but the RL360c missed, then 2 long pulls to show the RL360c finally alerting.

Video #2 - RL360c - K on, Ka 2/4/5/6/8
The first 5 were quick pulls of the trigger which the M360 caught every time, but the RL360c missed, then 3 long pulls to show the RL360c finally alerting.
This is how I ran the RL360c to CMA with stalkers.

Video #3 - RL360c - K on, ALL Ka bands on - Basically this is an exact Apple to Apple test vs these two RD's.
The first 5 were quick pulls of the trigger which the M360 caught every time, but the RL360c missed, then 4 long pulls to show the RL360c finally alerting.
You can see just how bogged down and slow the RL360c becomes when it has to scan all K and all Ka segments - something the M360 does quickly and easily.
This to me really shows just how much work needs to be done to the RL360c in regard to reactivity when apples to apples.

Video #4 - RL360c - K on, All Ka Off
The first 3 were quick pulls of the trigger which the M360 caught every time, but the RL360c missed, then 3 long pulls to show the RL360c finally alerting.
Even with Ka Off on the RL the M360 still was able to react faster than the RL360c.

Video #5 - RL360c - 1 K segment on, Ka Off
You can see the M360 still was able to react faster than the RL360c most times, but there were a couple that the RL360c caught. It only took turning basically everything on the RL360c off for that to happen.

Yes, these two unit were run at the same time and somewhat next to each other. That being said, I have done this many times without the M360 on and the delays on K-band are just the same so there is no interference in these videos, but as always it can creep up when you least expect it so you never want to run on the road like this.

Side story - between videos shots the RL360c suddenly alerted to Ka 34.7, quickly followed by the M360. A local LEO was driving down the road behind where the video is facing. That did show me the RL360c is more sensitive than the M360 as it picked it up first but only by a slight hair. Neither one of them got above 1 bar for that alert so it was a very weak signal given that road is a distance away and there is a house and plenty of trees between us.

As others on here always say, this is one test, and vs the Bushnell. I would be interested to see what would happen with different K-band guns as well.

I plan also plan to conduct this test again in the next few nights but on Ka with my Stalker to show the differences there as well.

Sometimes quiet comes with consequences... a little risky if you ask me.

The M360 is as good or better at BSM filtering as well, so the RL does not seem to have an advantage there either.

Thanks for doing this!
It mimicks my DualPro 360 vs. Max 3 tests that show one second plus delays on K and Ka bands for the Max 3.
Dualpro 360 was 1/2 second or less.
R7 was always instant with Ka, and clear winner on K.
I'm very disappointed in the Max 3 reactivity.
The Redline 360 appears to have similar issues with short I/O bursts.

Ditto again on the Max 3 vs DP360.

@westwind77 - which FW version for each? And I can't remember whether your Max 360 is a 79 or 85 serial number?

Thanks for the testing.

Thanks for taking the time to illustrate the reactivity issue of the R360c. I'm one of many that want to love the R360c, but its issues are the dangerous types. Maybe I'll just buy another gun instead.

Running the most recent firmware for each RD. The M360 is an 85x.

Tell you a test I'd like to see! The V1G2 against the R360c just to see which one sucks the worst against K band I/O! This looks like a mirror image of how the V1G2's acted against my R1 and @VariableWave 's V1G1 at our last K band test! Our V1G2's got destroyed every time! They are ok against C/O however.

Because we are going to start 21 on a positive note, I submit the following suggested edit...

Just to see which one performs the best against K band I/O!

As bad as these 2 are against K band I/O I just can't spin it that way @DC Fluid ! LMAO!

I understand, with the Max 3 this sucky or worse on all 4 bands, I can't bring myself to do any serious driving with it, knowing I have several better solutions in arms reach.

The Max360 series may not be the most sensitive on the market currently but it has great reactivity on K and Ka and it has great BSM filtering. If the weather holds I'll try the Ka test tonight between these two units.

That will be interesting! The V1G2 is as fast as lightning against any flavor of Ka band Q/T and I/O as we've all seen! Hopefully the R360c ia a lot faster against Ka band Q/T and I/O as well!

Spoiler - not so much. From my testing prior with the RL on 2/5/8 it is just about on par with the M360 sweeping all Ka. When you add 4/6 to the RL the M360 beats it every time.

@JSherbondy - Are you reading this? Hurry and come to the rescue of all RL360C owners because we have a reputation to uphold. ;)

That's a shame! My old Redline-O's are greased lightning against both K and Ka band I/O and Q/T as well when segged to 2-5-8 with RDR off, so I know Escort can fix this. I get why they're doing it on K band, but Ka band should be blistering fast, there's no reason for it not to be! Yes, I know the Redline-O is hopeless against BSM's but I'm just using it as an example against Ka Q/T and I/O.
