Is it safe to just segment my RL360 to just 5/8 here in Southern California? I know some also recommend to include 6 for out-of-tune 34.7 guns But is that necessary or is 5/8 good enough?
I've seen folks from Cali say 5 and 8 are enough. I suppose that you could enable 6 just to be safe and it would probably be like 2/5/8 as far as reactivity goes.

@Brainstorm69 , Congrats on your new RL360c. Let us know what you think about it once you have some driving time with your new RL360c. I am still thinking about getting one, but I am going to wait a bit until they are in stock at Escort or Best Buy. Maybe by then, a new firmware update will be out for it.

This is the first RD I've ever had where I worry about dropping it because it's so expensive. That's a strange feeling.

Felt same way as I walked it to the car in the garage, Don't Drop it over & over in my Head.

Did you get a blendmount ?

No blendmount. I think the sticky cup should be okay for awhile.

I was surprised at the weight of the RL360c. Don't admit dropping it they will probably void the warranty.
V1G2 = 183.4g
R7 = 195.8g
RL360c > 300g (don't know weight because my scale only goes to 300g and displays an error message if you put something heavier than that on it.)

As usual, Escort has put a lead plate in there somewhere :laugh:, because people equate weight to quality.

Depends how you look at it. The RL360c has features the G2 does not. In fairness you would have to also factor in the cost of an Android phone (for those iPhone users like myself) to get frequency info, auto lock-outs, etc.

My G2 dedicated phone was $100, so that puts the G2 at $600 if trying to get the same features as the RL360c, if not a current Android owner. You could nit-pick and say that the RL360c also comes with a nice travel case, which the G2 does not, so that would be additional money.

Yes, overall the RL360c is going to be more expensive, but all depends how apples to apples you want to compare.
A phone is far from necessary with the G2, my gal simply uses hardware savvy with her second gen CX-5. I was driving without an app for a while, up until recently.

I just switched from Android to iPhone, V1-Driver is so slick. The auto-connection on iPhone has always been smoother IMHO, and I beta tested V1-Driver for Android extensively. Of course, I can understand if hardcores prefer JBV1 and feel the need to purchase a dedicated android phone.

Or isn't there a second app for iOS? Since when was Android necessary for the additional features? Bypassing W aze isn't required!

I believe that Escort can improve the RL360C WRT these capabilities. Additionally, it depends on where you live. @Kennyc56, @Z06fan and others who face I/O on a daily basis need all of the reactivity they can get.
Agreed. It needs some work though and wish they would get to releasing it.
