I had no problem waiting before I saw the “coming soon” post. I’ve forgotten about this update for quite some time.
No you're not by yourself I did the same thing but quickly went back to my R7 due to the unreliability of the RL360cUniden needs to get this working, I can't be the only pesron that took out an R7 & Replaced it with the RL360C.
I'm still rocking the RL, I had 3.5 mile KA CO Monday on US127 here in MI.No you're not by yourself I did the same thing but quickly went back to my R7 due to the unreliability of the RL360c

100% correct. I own a pellet grill that I was given the option of using beta version of app.Dont think uniden really cares that much, but from I have seen in this industry seems like there is not a lot of concern when it comes to customer. Especially when you consider money spent. Consider that they are making a product that in reality keeps us from being punished for breaking the law and that says all you need to know about the integrity of the manufacturers of these devises . I personally own or owned many detectors and never really expected much from the people that make them Kind of like when you bought pirate boxes for cable systems years ago. Don't expect much and there will be no disappointment. Not a whole lot of integrity in this industry. And a part of me thinks that the “coming soon” thread was just created to get people excited and drive up R7 sales for a particular vendor (or two).
Not accusing anyone, just thinking out loud.

There’s really no reason for Uniden not to release it as an optional “Beta” firmware release since they supposedly already released it to several people for “testing.”
Why not slap it on the firmware download page as give everyone else a chance to try it out as well? No harm really since Uniden allows you to roll back firmware updates.
Speed limits are generally considered a BS law though that 90% of people break regularly, so it's not the same as if a shady company was making a device to help someone get away with murder.100% correct. Beta testers are under an NDA. You won’t hear a peep from them.Have any of the beta testers described their experience with auto-lockouts yet? Has it been positive?
I'm going to assume it's positive given that Vortex was considering pulling the R7 from his recommendations prior to the beta, and that a poor implementation of auto-lockouts with the beta would have hastened that.
