There was a Vortex "tuned" model of the RL360C that sold on eBay.

Can you imagine if they released a firmware update tomorrow but without autolockouts and only a few new features like new sounds for k band ka band and laser? I think it would be the ultimate troll move and an angry mob of RDFers would show up at Uniden America lol.

I’m glad they are taking their time and listening to the beta testers to try to hopefully implement auto lockouts in a smart/“safe” way. I hope they are able to do things like alert to additional new signals when they are within the original lockout range if there was only one signal previously. I’m very selective in locking things out because of the dumb logic in manual lockouts. I’d love to be able to fully trust the software to do it with logic that’s more advanced than mute “X” frequency +/-10mhz.

not sure what kind deal uniden worked out with escort but i’m surprised uniden is adding auto lockouts to the r7 at no additional cost.

they could save it for a new model R7G2 w/ LNAs and take the street price back up to $599+. assuming LNAs are available - lol

Well, it has been three full weeks now so I assume that the last beta testers that they were waiting to hear from found some problems and that Uniden is still reworking it.

No, actually it has been .246 days... Saturn time. Neptune time is a bit slower. Based on Saturn (or Neptune) time, we still have the obligatory “two weeks” left.

The next release will have all K-band alerts done by Rick Astley.

Well, at this point I realize some people are fine with this wait, but for me, all I can say is Wow! This this is beyond ridiculous.

Almost as long as I waited for V1 to come out that didn’t need phone and messing around. Wait, no, still waiting (still have 3 V1.1). Just like Theia, wait, no, still waiting. Using my R7 in meantime.

Well, at this point I realize some people are fine with this wait, but for me, all I can say is Wow! This this is beyond ridiculous.

Had the R7 for over a year now. Pretty much manually locked out most stuff first run through over the first month I owned it (knowing from past RD's where true falses where. Not driving as much lately but still a fair amount. Have not needed to manually lockout anything in many months. Probably a lot of people are in the same situation where they already locked out all the fixed K falses that auto-lockouts doesn't add much to the experience at this point. Overall as an early buyer they have done a lot of upgrades in the firmware that added features I value a lot more but it's not really an either/or thing.

I can see though why some users may prefer the auto-lockouts, particularly if you are not familiar with the stationary falses in you driving range.

Auto lockouts will be for X band only and you have to prove you got a COVID shot first.

Reminds me of when RadarBuster's sold the Redline-O, added the Redline Extreme for (i think) $50 more as it took them 5mins to program, add the segments and all. the Got to have.

Be nice if Uniden did provide some unreleased FWs for use on RDF to play with. No NDA needed there, only that we read that these are not production/official FWs... and use at our own risks. As long as it does not break the Detector, only buggy as to what, and provide our experiences.... then Uniden would need to be active here though to read. If that was the case, only technical on that thread, all others will be deleted that have nothing to do with said experience and FW.

Neat idea in theory.... not so much practical.

It would get passed around. There would be no way to control who gets it.... and before you know it...: some shelp would make a review video of it and it would end up as a bad PR move.
