Hello everyone. I live in southern New England and have a fleet of 3 vehicles equipped with RDs and dashcams. I've visited here occasionally after arriving from web searches and finally decided to register after watching many of Vortex Radar's videos on YouTube mentioning RDF as a great resource. I've been around RDs for a while, when I was a kid I enjoyed driving with my Dad who had a Escort Passport Solo in the car. Since I started driving in the early 00s I've always had a RD in my car. I'm looking forward to learning from the community.

My setup:
2019 Honda Civic Type R - Uniden R1 [not hardwired] - Thinkware U1000 dual channel, with radar module [hardwired with a Cellink NEO battery pack]
2000 Toyota Camry - Beltronics Express 925 [not hardwired] (my first detector, bought from Circuit City!) - Garmin Dash Cam 45 [not hardwired]
1997 Honda Accord - Escort Max [not hardwired, using Smart Cord] - Garmin Dash Cam 45 [not hardwired]

I also have a Cobra XRS 9930 which is not used anymore (I replaced it with the Escort Max) because it started falsing very often--to the point I suspect a hardware fault, versus standard Cobra faulting of that era.

In the near-term future I'm looking to add a laser jammer to my Civic as there are some agencies near me that have laser equipment and I'm interested in changing RD in the Civic to be Theia, once it is released (assuming it peforms as well as it seems).

Nothing particularly special, I've done a HomeLink mod (using part of the map light from a '17 Accord sport in place of the Civic's) so I don't need a separate garage door opener in the car. I'm sourcing buttons to fill in the various blanks in the car, the idea is to use them for things like a hardwired radar detector and laser jammer so I can keep an OEM style look inside the car.

I don't plan any performance mods to the car, beyond at some point getting the carbon fiber wing accessory. I'm quite happy with performance after driving more sedate 4-cyclinder for most of my driving time.

Welcome from MA! Sounds like you are on track already and have some good protection. Not sure where in RI you are, but Providence uses DE guns. If you spend any time there, you'll need to go with ALP for parking sensors.

I'm in the East Bay, but given the state, it is inevitable to go through Providence at some point. The only thing that would keep me from going with ALP would be the size of the heads, I want a no drill/cut install so that could push me to Stinger. That said if I can find good mounting spots/solutions for the ALP those would be my choice. And I'd genuinely like parking sensors, I've got a tight garage :).

Welcome to the forum @Decimator02. Great to have you join us! The reviews and performance on Stinger from members that have owned it has been mixed at best. When I bought my STiR years ago, I was trying to decide between the Bel/ALP's and Stinger. Very glad I went with the Bel/ALP's. Stinger seems to have their act together in other parts of the world. In the US, not so much. If you're seeing DE in your area as @NorEaster18 mentioned, you'll want to go with ALP's if you run jammers.
