Went for another drive this afternoon with the new Cobra DualPro 360.
I wanted to verify some lockout behaviors, monitor BSM hits, door opener signals and MRCD falsing. Plus I did some radar gun reactivity tests to see what delays are associated with filtering behaviour.

In the truck I had a 35.5 Talon, 24.116 Falcon HR and 24.134 Bushnell Velocity. All shots aimed out passenger rear window from behind the seat.

DualPro settings 2,4,5,6,8 Ka.
K 1,2,3 Highway Mode
TSR off most of the trip.
MRCD on most of the trip.

The DualPro is a very quiet detector, especially after a few lockouts of the strongest door openers. I have noticed some source autolocking out as fast as 2 passes by, yesterday and today.

I went to the strongest signals in town at Home Depot, Canadian Tire and Walmart shopping complex. First time this new detector had been anywhere near this end of town. First pass on Auto Mode it was very quiet past Walmart and made one week beep, a few more when circling through parking lot right in front of the doors.
The cruise alert feature lets it release 2 loud beeps then goes quiet under my 30 kph setting, on K and Ka bands.

I switched back to highway and its definitely alerts more than Auto. I stayed on Highway for consistency and lockout use.
Home Depot has 4 signals all right at the corner by a road I use often.
One manual lockout shuts up every single door opener in the area, for a large radius.
Unfortunately locking out a K 24.19x signal locked out everything else, including the Falcon HR at 24.116. And a door opener down at 24.100. I watched this unfold on the detector and app.
The same thing happened downtown where I locked out last night. 2 lockouts covers 3 km street with 6 signals from 24.089 - 24.199. Again the Falcon HR and Bushnell both were blocked by the lockouts.
A 24.204 source did alert during this time, so it wasn't completely K Blocked. Weird thing is I had only K segments 1,2,3 enabled and 24.204 I believed to be in segmentation 4??

In summary lockouts occur quick and easy both with Automatic and manual methods. They both lockout huge portions, if not all of relevant K Band segments. Anywhere there was a lockout, no matter the frequency of that lockout, I could not get any K Band radar gun to trigger an audible alert. I could see the greyed out signal strength bars rise up for the guns.
On positive note, the DualPro is very resistant to alert to door openers. Perhaps the most resistant I have ever seen when operating in Highway Mode.
I am concerned about how massive the lockouts are, a few of these and K Band won't be alerting in much of my city.

BSM filtering: 3 hours now total, and maybe 1 BSM 24.175, but I couldn't chase the vehicle to confirm.
Driving around to find offenders was frustrating and someone hidden all the best known ones. I will have to revisit this topic after a few weeks.
However, being on highway mode and set much like the Max II, I would say it blows the Max II away for BSM filtering effectiveness. With some more time I may be able to confirm that the Pro M may get dethroned.
Auto mode definitely would be in the running for quiet city mode champ.

All this K Band goodness leaves me suspicious of K Band sensitivity so we will see in head to head tests soon.
Worried about reactivity, I repeated last nights tests, with good results.
K Band responds to the Falcon HR gun very well. 1/2 second delay from trigger pull at most. Repeatable at multiple speeds and locations, many times.
Bushnell Velocity K Band was a little slower, by a few tenths of a second.
Ka 35.5 Talon is a bit of a letdown. It's as slow as the HR alerts or slower. Never an instant alert the first breath of trigger pull like the R Series Unidens. Ka should be hair trigger alerts, but this detector, like the Max II, has delay. Worse or better I will find out this testing season too.

I turned off the MRCD, I get 3 falses per hour from stationary door openers. MRCD to be tested later when it gets its way to Edmonton.
TSR went back on too, so I will drive the next couple weeks like this to evaluate BSM more.
Here are a few screen shots of K Band that one lockout blocks them all.
One unlock freed them all.
Lockout again and same results.
Very quiet detector and easy to use so far.
Performance comparison later this month.
Regards.

Thanks for the feedback and testing! Nice work by the Cobra on the K band reactivity, but lockouts being so wide in frequency is unexpected...

I’m really curious about your take on the BSM filtering differences compared to the Pro M too, especially since you’ve got a bunch of seat time with it.

Looks good. Nice write up.

I’m looking forward to running some MRCD tests when it gets here.

I do know that there is quite a bit of difference between how Escort handles a 2nd K band threat..... in a locked out zone.... when you rely on Auto lockouts or when you invoke manual lockouts.

You can see my notes in the testing section. Not something I want to go into too much at this level of access.

Ummm on the 35.5 guess I'll use my off day tomorrow to try this out. Not the results I've had on 34.7 at all

Drove around this afternoon in search of BSM and LEOs.
I stalked a few highway patrol LEOs as they exited Tim Hortons, but never amounted to anything.
Their 34.7 antennas in GMC Yukon Denalis clearly visible, along with cameras and laptops and such.
No one would pull the trigger and attempt to nab speeders.
Changed things up, stalking the side of the road, u-turns etc.
Chased a few newer CRVs, MDX, Pilot, Ridgeline, Caddy Escalade.
So far not one will trigger a BSM in the DP360.
Some busy intersections I had twice happen a suspected BSM 24.201 & 24.204 strong alert while I was stopped. I suspected a Honda product but couldn't identify.
Since this range is in the K Notch range I am assuming it is from Honda, but now I can't find a Honda to set it off.
I'm now setting up a radar test from my house to verify K Band sensitivity of the DualPro.
All driving today was Highway mode.

what really works good is pointing the radar gun right behind the detectors maybe an inch and pulling the trigger, you will get the best results no matter what anyone says @Kennyc56 and @VariableWave will attest
