It's a tad bit more than $250, but the Uniden R3 is your best bet. It's got killer range, GPS, and passable false alert filtering.

I have a v1g1 I've been using
I agree with others. For your budget, the R3 is the best option. You may be able to find a used one for less. Maybe @benzr will have some knowledge of another member having one they are willing to part with.

Good recommendations. I just wanted to say I like your car! Don't see many RX8's anymore.
I love driving mine and haven't had any engine problems as some have had. I see a lot of them being parted out as I think people don't want to rebuild their engine.

If you want to buy now, the DFR7 or 9 are great and affordable and have good bsm filtering. Dfr9 has a nicer screen and can memorize more gps lockout locations.

I vote for the R3 for that budget. I have an R1. There is a new firmware just released for the R1 and R3.
