Hi everyone! Glad to be here.

I've been running radar detectors for about 10 years now.

All started when I was 16 with my first car, a 1998 mustang GT convertible... browsing the automotive section at Walmart trying to spend what little money I had working at Raising Canes, I came across a Cobra brand radar detector. Being a mustang enthusiast, I immediately wanted it just because of the name. And the $40 price tag? Sold! Get back to my car and after struggling for several minutes trying to open the packaging, I quickly plugged it in...
"beep beep beep....system ready"...."F**k yes this thing is awesome". On my way home, driving down Spring Creek pkwy in Plano, a cop ridden street... "KA alert" followed by a few beeps... "wtf is this? is this a cop? where is he?" after cruising at the speed limit for another quarter mile or so, I finally see him coming towards me. As he gets closer, the beeps intensify...then he passes and beeps begin to fade away.
I was HOOKED. Had the cobra for a while, realized they were low-end detectors so I wanted to upgrade. Did my research and decided on a Valentine 1. Had a V1 for a couple years but after around 2013-2014 the blind spot falses became too annoying. (I didn't know about the third party apps at the time) switched over to a 9500ix, then a gen 1 Max, then a Max 360. I've had my Max 360 for just over 3 years now and its been the best detector I could ask for. Now with the redline 360c being the latest and greatest.... I want it. Currently in the process of selling both of my Max 360's (I have 1 in each of my 2 cars) to fund the purchase of 1 Redline 360c. Very excited!

Hello and welcome aboard! Thank you for sharing a little bit about yourself and your background in your introduction. FWIW, I own the RL360C and think that you'll be very happy with it.

Thanks! Good to hear. I've watched every video Vortex Radar has posted about it. So much that my GF asked me the other day, "why do you keep watching videos on that thing?" "You wouldn't understand, Babe...." I'm actually keeping an eye out for a good deal on a 9500ix or Max, Hardwired and mirror mounted for her car as one of her Christmas gifts. Lol

Welcome to RDF! You have found the right place, based on your introduction. I especially like the $40 Cobra save. You've already spent some money in this pursuit and trust me RDF will help you spend more!

Welcome to the RDF!

Loads of information on the Forum and tons of advice (wanted and unwanted). So here goes with possible unwanted advice: if you currently have a decent RD, why not wait until Radenso releases Theia to see if it is worth $150 to $250 more then a RL360c to have absolutely Zero BSM False Alerts and proper handling of fixed false alerts along with the greatest range and available sensitivity. Just something I would want somebody to at least suggest to me if I were in your current position especially if Radenso is able to meet their self-imposed reals date by end of 2020. Worth looking into IMHO.

Enjoy!

Hello neighbor! Welcome to RDF. You’re not lying about Spring Creek Pkwy as I got hit with Lidar today on that very road!

Start looking into laser jammers next... super fun!
Oh I really want an ALP system... Just a bit too expensive for me at the moment. Maybe sometime next year I'll set aside some money to pick one up. Luckily It's been at least a few months since I've come across a leo shooting laser!

I have heard about Theia and have done a bit of research and I'm interested in it's performance when it is released, but If I'm being honest, I'm pretty brand loyal to Escort (mainly because I know the RL360C is going to do everything I need it to do and then some) but If I haven't already bought the RL and Theia is released, I will certainly hold out for a while longer until I see how it looks, sounds and performs just to be sure.

Yes, the RL360c will handle many situations, BUT it also comes with all the current problems ALL current radar detectors have which is tons of BSM False Alerts, Fixed K False Alerts, and now with their additional sensitivity more Ka False Alerts then ever before. And if one can wait, then for another couple hundred dollars, I would hate to see anybody pay for a RL360c when they could have just purchased a Theia in the first place.

Good Luck.
