Watching the various reviews it's clear the Redline 360c outperforms the Max 360c I've got while keeping all of the nice Internet features. (My car has a built in hotspot I pay $20/mo for and the Max 360c uses it.) Also, it looks like the Redline 360c will use the same blendmount and power hardline I've got so from an effort perspective it's an easy upgrade. But I wouldn't mind not taking such a big hit financially.

Escort will give me $120 trade-in for my Max 360c...would I be better off trying to sell it? How much would it be worth? (I just did the iPhone trade in with Apple because it was the easiest option, so I don't wanna go through a lot of hassle selling it.) There's a few eBay sales in the $500 range, and nothing on the local Craigslist. If anyone else has upgraded, what did you do with your Max 360c? (I've got another car, but it's a truck and I don't really feel the need to run a RD in it.)

If you're sticking with Escort, I would sell the 360c on the open market. It may take a little longer, but I believe you'll get more for it.
Check some of @Vortex reviews on the Max 360c. I'm not positive, but I think it performs fairly well. Don't get me wrong, the RL360c is a beast, but is it worth the tradeoff in price?

If you're going to upgrade to the Redline, it would be better to sell the Max 360 in the marketplace. The best way to judge how much you're likely going to get for it is by looking at the classified section here, Ebay, Craigslist, etc. That should give you a decent history of what they've sold for.

I've sold a number of detectors and lidar guns and always sell them here. You're generally going to get less $$ here versus selling on Ebay but you're also dealing with people on the forum that as a group, tend to look out for each other. Your other option, unless you definitely want an Escort product, would be to hold onto your Max 360 for now, see what Radenso's new detector (Theia) looks like when it launches, and then make your decision. Theia will likely be priced a little bit higher than the Redline 360c but it may also offer more. If you're not in a big hurry and you already have a good detector, why not wait a few more months?

In the unlikely instance that you might live in or be regularly driving through NJ or OH, a consideration for the upgrade decision would be that the R360c does not have X-band front/rear arrow capability whereas the 360/360c does.

Selling the 360c yourself will bring much more money. If you do trade it, be sure to ask Escort to transfer any unexpired Defender Database subscription that you may have paid for from your trade-in to your new purchase. Such transfers are not direct (paid subscriptions are bonded to the RD's serial number) but Escort will normally just extend your new detector's subscription by the unexpired time on your trade-in (at least they have in the past). If you use the cloud Database exclusively this will not be a consideration.

I would just sell in the open marketplace on here. But in my opinion would wait on the up and coming Theia to see how it performs against the RL360c!

As much as I appreciate the Theia hype it will be expensive and have additional costs. New blendmount, new hardwire install. The advantage of the RL 360 upgrade is that it works with the current install. Truly "plug and play" for me.

That’s true, which is what I will also have to consider as I have a blendmount for my v1g2.

Based on the latest Rad Th video update Vegas odds makers suggest the number “2”. Which does not mean “two weeks”. More like two half years, maybe two quarters of 2021 before introduced with inventory in stock. :)

depending on need to feed the urge, waiting not an option for some.

Theia will be about $300 more (factoring in taxes) and is not slated to release anytime soon.

Anyone still “saving” for Theia after no release date or timetable has been given and with no video of a working prototype being shown after 4 months of silence is a FOOL in my opinion.

Get something available NOW (whether it’s the RL360, R7 or the V1) and IF or WHEN Theia ever releases then you can consider purchasing it if it lives up the the hype (highly doubt it).

Waiting for Theia at this point is like waiting for a PS6 while missing out on the XBSX or the PS5. Not worth it IMO.

Do not say PS6! I am still fighting for a 5.

So you’re saying if I wanted to experiment with the RL-360c, that I still have time ?

I’m debating whether to get a new Xbox or PlayStation at all, considering that I don’t game much anymore. But still really want the PS5 😹

Yeah I’m guesstimating Theia won’t be out for at least another 6 months or so. And yes the PS5 is the system to get. Good luck finding one though. Lol

IF I was in your shoes, yes.. U Have the time based on axiom I go by: ‘Nothing is routine, sweat the details’... It would be my luck that not having top shelf CM gear during the donut hole of BT (before Theia) time we are in, I would get a ticket, and pay increased insurance rates for several years.

Post it on Ebay don't take such a little trade in amount.

It does in sensitivity, however, not reactivity at this point, especially on K-band. How much K band do you face on a daily basis? Is it typically C/O or I/O?

As long as it is good condition I do not see any reason why you could not get at least that if not a fair bit more. I recently sold my 'old' Passport (today's x80) for over $100 on e-bay and that is a RD with less sensitivity, no BSM filtering, and no arrows. They just dropped the 360 to $439 lately new.

Good point. Plus, the Max 360 series seems to have top flight K band sensitivity against the radar around here locally. Combined with excellent BSM elimination.

Kind of what I’m thinking. Any of the state-of-the-art units selling now can be had and enjoyed today, and then sold for a small loss if Theia is really compelling. I am thinking that with electronic parts supply lines in such a poor state right now, it will take at least a year for Theia to be announced, and actually ready for common people to actually buy and receive. Then there are sure to be software issues once it hits the masses. So really, 12-18 months before there is a stable, reliable, and buyable Theia. I wouldn’t wait. Too much fun to be had right now, and you can sell and rebuy when the time comes. Fun delayed is fun denied!
