If I'm driving at night and turn screen off what detector is safe to use? r7,redline 360c,valentine gen2, redline ex

To some degree all of them. I ran my R7 in dark mode mostly to preserve the OLED display and it was attention getting to have it light up. I run my V1 on all the time but have JBV1 running so that is the main display and attention getter. I might pick up a concealed display to make it a non-factor and just put the lights in a different spot. I cant add anything for the Escorts, I have not run those but I suspect they work the same.

While my personal choice is V1G2 I'd feel adequately protected by every RD you mentioned except the EX. I'd have to go study the reviews on the EX but I don't think it's on the same level as the others.

Are you worried about the police seeing your detector? Unless you head through Virginia, any of the detectors will be "safe". If you go through banned areas like VA, then the G2 or the Redlines are the safest bets as far as being functionally stealth to Spectres.

you said g2 is that v1 gen2? will it not be pick up by radar detector detector will be in Virginia, So is V1 gen 2,redline360c,redline ex, or r7 best one to run?

Any of those except G2 without remote display have power indicator on the direct wire connection, or cigar plug power. plus blinky alert . Big deal for me to make sure Power is on. Had a issue with that when I was 17yrs old, had taped over power indicators, and power went off. Superstitious since then. Like to know power is on. The dancing pixel on the Uniden platform running dark mode also helps.

That should offer view directly to your question. As to which one to run because of performance and feature mix, all depends. Unless you are running +15-20 over, they all should give good awareness. If you want least BSM issue based on your above mentions, Escort (except the RL EX) and G2 are tops.

Best nerdy situational awareness: G2 integrated with JBV1. Love the aircraft warning, hot zone measurement crowd source database of risky areas, crowd source live warnings built in, weather status, plus ton of other JBV1 G2 integrated features make the best road warrior combo (for the high strung, high speed nerd/hobbyist). I have used Escort Live Since introduced. I find it also effective integration tool. However does not have the features of JBV1.

35.5, 34.7 and Prolaser 3 for the most part. Idk if I remember seeing 33.8 there. There are a couple Dragoneye guns in the state, but pretty rare. @asleeper any tips?

Predominantly 35.5 and some 34.7. Lidar is almost all Prolasers and Prolites. Loudoun is the only jurisdiction I am aware of that has some DE's. Keep in mind there are some VSP that are jammer aware so make sure you are quick on your JTK.

I pair up any detector I own with JBV1/Waze, or Highway Radar/Waze and Im good to go. All combos work great for me.

I run the V1G2 high up on the windshield hidden by the Frit Band using the mount designed by OBeerWANKenobi https://www.rdforum.org/threads/98970/
This with the the V1G2 in Dark Mode using JBV1 as my remote display and the new V1G2 is supposed to be good against the RDDs.

I drive long ways through Virginia (both ways) 5 or 6 times a year using (Interstates 85/81 or 95) and have not been stopped running V1 or V1G2 plus the last 2 years with ALP. Last trip south took very little time as an Audi and a Vette passed me for a plus 100 trip from about 25 to 30 miles inside all the way down to Exit 16 where I HAD to get off for fuel. But of course the time before last going northbound I was hit by Lidar 3 times and 5 times with Ka Band as they were out in droves.

I whole heartedly AGREE. Even though R7 is an fantastic Detector.

The V1G2 combo android JBV1 will allow steathy detections and your android can be located low WITH V1G2 in DARK MODE FULLTIME. !!
