Hi, I recently got offered an Escort Max360c (blue/grey) from a friend and was wondering if it's a good deal. I know that it's been superseded by the redline however it's nearly half the price and I can't imagine the redline is 2x the performer. He told me it works and I'll be able to deal with him if it doesn't so I'm not too concerned about the warranty but wanted to get everyone's thoughts as to if I should go for it or if there are better alternatives for the money

There is 2 day sale at escort, but your offer sounds good.
I bought a 360c from Amazon Warehouse deals, several years ago and
saved a lot. It has worked fine. Good Luck.

I personally would only pay that amount ($400 ) for a used detector at this time if it was a

R360C or V1G2

I do not have a 360c but I have the 360 which I am not impressed with KA range......It is adequate but not to the standards of R360C, V1G2, or R7....Other than that I really like the detector but that is a very big other for me......Maybe not you though....

If I was interested in acquiring though, I would offer him $300. He will shake his head then probably settle for $350. Resale value for these are over that at Ebay so if you don't like after a few months you will come out to the good in the end either way....

Good luck on whatever you decide...

I think that's a fair price considering that's lower than the top 3 detector manufactures out there currently. You'll like the 360c with the BSM filtering, arrows and mag mount. The 360c has done well in tests as BLS7 pointed out above.

The price seems normal for a used Max 360c. There's one for sale in the classifieds for $450. There's one on Ebay for $370 (360+9.90). So it doesn't seem like he's ripping you off, nor is it a crazy smokin' deal.

The Max 360c has always been expensive relative to the Ka range you get, and that is true here as well. It does have some nice features though, and that boosts the value for some people.

I think you'd have a hard time getting a Redline 360c or V1 Gen2 for $400 or under used right now. But you could almost certainly get a V1G2 under $500 used (They're $499 new but Valentine resale value has been quite strong).

Uniden R7 is another top performer. Pricing fluctuates a bit on them but usually an excellent bang for the buck.

If you want a full recommendation you could do one of the official recommendation threads, stating budget/driving style/location etc etc.

Here's a more recent one from @Vortex that includes the Redline 360c and V1Gen2

For $400 Yes I would buy it if I were you, personally I think the performance is good, I upgraded my wife from the Max360C to the RL360C around 3 weeks ago and sold the Max360C on ebay for $528 + shipping I haven't checked the going rate on them in the past few weeks but when I sold ours they were all selling around the $525ish mark.

I agree $400 is a pretty good buy compared to what the Max360c is selling for on ebay. I have been thinking about selling my Max360c on ebay soon, and I was amazed what they are selling for.

$528 is very good sale price as the seller IMO. How are you liking the RL360c vs the Max360c? Any difference in BSM filtering between the two?

i have him for 2.5 years, ZERO ticket.
the reason i upgraded to RL360 cus i need something new to play with, plus a little bit more range won't hurt.

Yes $528 wasn't bad, we owned it for about a year and I caught it on sale for $575. I don't at this time have an opinion about the RL360C because I haven't had a lot of seat time with it, maybe about 75 miles if that, I can't really get an honest opinion from my wife either because she basically just puts it on the windshield and drives, if it isn't shoes, clothes, coats or purses she's just not that into it
