While traveling on I-80 west bond from NJ to OH, got hit twice by lidar, once in NJ and late again in OH. In NJ about 40 miles before PA board, traffic was moderate. I was at last position with a line of cars traveling about 85 mph at time. No Waze indicate there was a LEO in the area, but I saw one in the distance, suddenly, the ZR5 shifter alerts, which is about 600 or 700 feet away. Wasn’t sure if I was the one got targeted, with that little of distance, not a whole lot to do other than lifting foot from the gas.... by the JTK kicked in, I was pretty much at the front of LEO, as I passed, from rear view mirror, he didn’t pull out. Don’t know if I saved by ZR5 or just got the alert from LEO was targeting someone else far behind me. Then, several hours late, after sunset, very light traffics and I was pretty much alone traveling on center lane, I got laser alerts, I slowed down from 85 to 75, JTK kicked in at 4 second, then I saw the LEO was sitting at side. I got the initial alerts about 1500 feet out. Again, no Waze indicated there was LEO in front. This time, without other cars around, I was pretty sure that I was targeted. Still waiting for available resources in the area for a full test my ZR5, but did feel better with several recent encounters. If Escort could offer a “2 second JTK”, it will be much better. 4 seconds seem very long......
