It's finally time to announce the fruits of my Corona past time. :) To stay sane in these crazy times, I worked up an app for iOS. It's called "V1 Companion" and is available now on the apple app store.

VERSION HISTORY:
Version 2.00
adds the following:
Based on user feedback, new screen designs are included with this update.
Settings have been moved to their own screen, easily accessible from the main display.
Main display now takes advantage of the entire screen, offering larger displays of all alert information.
Option to turn off "Visual Awareness™" system.
Speed acceleration calculations were improved.
Muting system improvements.
Fixed issue with iPhone 5 screen size not showing information correctly.

Version 1.09 adds the following:
Enhancements to Passive Mute system.
Enhancements to Urgency Alert system.
Enhancements to Voice Announcement system.
Enhancement to Trip Summary details.

Version 1.08 adds trip distance (mi/km) and voltage readout to the main display. It also adds a 'Trip Summary' that appears at the end of your trip to give stats about the duration, distance, alerts, filtering, battery condition and how many V1 hardware cache resets you experienced.

Version 1.07 adds new screen optimizations for the new iPhone 12 series. It also includes improvements to bluetooth connectivity.

Version 1.06 adds improvements to the announcement and notification systems. It also includes improvements to the Passive Mute™" weak K & X signal processing and the muting system.

Version 1.05 adds the ability to have MPH or KMH as your speed measurement units. It also adds a tips/hints system and some improvements to voice notifications and the muted signal presentation as well as a bug fix for audio "ducking."

Version 1.04 greatly improves the quieting down of stationary falses and some of those pesky BSMs that get through the V1's awesome filtering. For example, with the new 'weak' muting enabled, 95% of my stationary trouble spots were eliminated by this new feature and my highway cruising was extremely quiet. I would love to get feedback from others, in their particular areas where they live and drive, on how this new update works for them. Please keep the feedback coming!

Am I missing something or are the settings toggle switches supposed to remain on the main screen all the time? I could not find a way to make them go away so I assume that is as designed. I would consider moving them to another page and enlarging the alert information.

I love your company name, Cracked Pixel

What will be the difference between this and V1 Driver?
Hi Luke,

Different feature sets, different in-app displays etc. V1 Driver is a great app that is extremely full featured. In it's current form, V1 Companion has fewer features that I wanted to have personally as a V1 user. Moving forward, I will be taking the communities feedback and adding features that make sense. As long as they fall into my mantra of "Simplicity", I'll look to adding them.

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, currently that is by design. I wanted everything on the same page to allow for quick modifications while you drive. I'll consider the option to move them to another page, especially as I add alert information or as you suggest, to "enlarge" the current display.

I think this app is a nice alternative to the more full featured V1 Driver for those not looking for auto-lockouts, bogey mapping, etc. In fact, for just providing frequency announcements, a user can just leave the phone in his pocket and be all set. That said, the alert display works well, also.

Nice job, Mark!

Thanks jfr!

That was my overriding design goal,”simple yet powerful”. Keep using it and letting me know your thoughts on improvements etc.
