This occurred to me as I was raking leaves.
We all know that foliage causes significant radar signal attenuation. My question is this; are there specific characteristics of a radar signal which are less degraded by passing through foliage that Theia can detect but our current frequency RD's can't?

I do not believe this is the case.

Jon my understanding is that foliage signal attenuation is well established as a cause of reduced detection range. It's been discussed on RDF for years. Is it really not an issue?

Sorry, I should have been more clear. Certainly foliage attenuates signals. I was saying that there is nothing special about foliage attenuation that would make Theia be able to pick it up better or worse than any other kind of attenuation.

The only advantage Theia will have in this domain is pure sensitivity.
