Hello everyone,

I'm a new user based in Utah County. My current setup is a Uniden R7, which I've loved. I am currently adding an ALP system as well to help with those pesky UHP motorcycle cops i've seen ramping up their lidar traps lately.

I looking forward to the wealth of knowledge the forum and its community holds.

Welcome to the RDF!

Good setup means more awareness plus more protection. Get the ALP install done as soon as you can but at the same time make sure it is a clean proper install. Please get it tested if at all possible.

Plenty to read and learn here plus help is just a questions away (never worry about questions, everybody was a Newbie at one time). Enjoy!

Thanks! I'm working with a local installer right now. They have installed escort systems, but not ALP. They put the TX head too low 🤦‍♂️so I need to go have them move it. Then I plan on getting it tested soon!

Welcome, great setup. Good luck in UT, the highway is a warzone from what I've experienced. Makes it more fun, though.
Haha it definitely can be! But when you get out away from the main highways and crazy drivers, there are some beautiful driving roads and canyons

Welcome aboard. After you install the ALP's, you'll find it hard to drive without them.

Be sure to stay on them for straight and level, many shops don't understand how critical that is.

Welcome to the forum. Be sure to follow @sdrawkcaB as he spends a lot of time in and around Utah County. Most of my time is north of Ogden.

I believe Utah is one of the few states with laws related to ALP and similar “accessories”. I’d make sure the install is as stealth as possible and the active components shut down after you’re down to speed. I saw an Audi the other day that I’m 90% sure had aftermarket light sensing and emitting accessories. I’m sure a LEO would have seen the same thing.

That being said, I’m looking forward to photos and videos taken from places outside of the state that look identical to places inside the state. 😎
