Over five weeks without hearing from V1. I've had it. I bought a Uniden R7 and am very happy with it.

Trying again on the phone to get to V1 to cancel my upgrade order 10 minutes on hold listening to prerecorded BS messages from MV.

If I get my V1G1 back, I will sell it. If I get a V1G2 I will send it back to them for a refund.

V1 may know detectors, but they are demonstrating they know nothing about customer retention.

Got through after about 15 mins on hold. Talked with a very nice woman who said they will ship my V1G1 back tomorrow, no charge to my card.

I'm not surprised.

You sound frustrated and I don't blame you; I think most would be. If you were able to get through to someone, did they say when they would get you a V1G2 on the trade-in?

Might be worth re-thinking tonight if you value having a V1 or if the R7 meets your needs. I'm not a fan of their customer service, but your end-user experience with the company is small compared to the experience you'll have with the product. Something to consider and evaluate.

Why didn’t you just purchase one and sell the original? Seems like most sold for more than Valentine was giving on trade.

At least your honest 😄. Sounds like it’s been quite an ordeal for many. The Gen2 is actually my first Valentine and I love it. I actually got rid of an R7 for it. Really like the app approach.
I gave up on the order after 3 weeks of waiting and the ship date getting pushed back further on a weekly basis. I just bought a second R3 and it fits my needs with Highway Radar as the running app on my dedicated phone. No issues here. I understand it isn't V1's fault and I have always wanted a V1 but I cannot let $500 sit unused. I made out approximately $200 less with a warranty on the R3 after I sent the V1 CD back for refund. Maybe someday..

Mikes customer service went south long ago.

Took Mike 20 years to drop the V2 and nothing but issues.

R7 is a solid platform, BSM is hit or miss depending on your area etc.

Hold onto your money a Game Changer is coming soon, That is my next investment in the RD game

bad thing about small businesses, when life happens like the pandemic, and it's only a three person business, it's hard to stay up with giants like uniden, escort, etc.

I concur... I’ve used a V1 for many years. It’s disrespectful to ignore longtime customers who have sent in their $500 radar detectors with zero communication. It’s been nearly six weeks since I’ve sent mine in. I’ve since purchased the Escort RL360C. My biggest issue is the absolute lack of communication or compensation. I completely followed the antiquated instructions for trading in my old V1 for the upgrade thinking that at most I would have to wait maybe 10 days. There was no mention of potential delays or I would have sold my V1 on eBay and purchased the V1 G2 outright. However, I was very busy at the time and went for what I thought was the convenient option. After nearly 6 weeks... I’m done. When I get the upgrade, I will most likely return it. Seriously... how hard would it be to update their customers with a simple email or maybe a fair discount. Plus... why the heck did they get rid of the ingenious knob. It reminds me of the the dirty dancing star Jeniffer Grey’s nose job. Lol. You took away its character.

Yeah we’ve been hearing this for months now. Interesting how other companies are releasing new products, COVID be dammed, while others can’t seem to do the same.

Also the V1G2 + JBV1 (if you run Android) is hard to beat and is a way better deal than any $1K-ish unit.

If they found your old V1 in the massive pile of pallets full of traded RD, they should be able to process anyone new order quickly. Unless.... The story about the piles of pallets of traded V1 i exaggerated causing the delay in shipping is not accurate. supply shortages is the only issue.

Honestly, my G1 is still in my glove box. I can wait for Theia.

This is coming from someone who seen a G2’s performance before practically everyone... while it’s a good improvement... it’s not the change/improvement I was hoping for.

They must have already had mine unpacked from the pile because she had all my information just from the phone number I called in on. I had her read it back to me.

None of that info was in their possession before I filled out their form, printed it, and sent it in with the detector for upgrade.

Did you order the first one from them? They have had my info from previous purchases years ago.

Perhaps you are saying that they already had updated info that had changed from a previous purchase?

That's frustrating. Not to make excuses but this is a weird time right now. One like any other that I can remember. At the end of the day though, of course it's your choice to move on.
