Look at a few.
1: Cobra Irad 200
2: Uniden DFR1
3: Cobra ESR-755

Any input on these models? All decent priced but unsure of best of these. I'm wanting to purchase one tonight

Honestly I strongly suggest you browsing the forum prior to making a decision on any of these. If budget is an issue, there is a marketplace here that is updated regularly. Furthermore, I will not disparage any brand publicly, however, reviews don't lie. You get what you pay for.

Welcome.

Best to complete the little questionnaire where once we know more about your budget needs you will get great recommendations.

Not trying to burst your bubble, but you won't find anyone here recommending a Cobra. Many tests have been done here by our excellent testers and the Cobras almost always fail, or never get close to other detectors...even budget detectors.
If you're trying to save a few bucks, like many of us do, I would recommend the Uniden R3 or a Radenso XP. Possibly, someone has a Uniden DFR9 they're willing to sell. It's an excellent mid level detector.
Top tier detectors are the Uniden R7, the Valentine G2, and the Escort Redline 360C. The first two cost around $500. The Escort is $750.
This may not be what you want to hear, but no one here is going to lie to you. We have nothing to gain or lose off of what you decide to purchase.
Hope this helps.

Hey thank you guys all your input l, sorry for the late reply.
So I've don't some research on the detectors mentioned and like you have said you've gotta pay to play bit not in terms right now to spend 500 to 700 on a detector.
I've hear very good review on the cheaper Cobra Rad450. I know it's been said cobra isn't the way to go but that one specifically doesn't have bad reviews and it's more on my price level. Thank for folk for your honest advice!

What about a Uniden R1? $185 on Amazon, $35 more than the Cobra.

Seen it as well. I think I found one in ebay that needed a power cable for 120 I believe not long ago. I wouldn't be opposed to it for sure. Just waiting for some extra cash to really decide

I would save your cash. The R1 is probably the absolute best bang for the buck--it has as long of range as any on the market--its right up there with the $500 detectors. I almost never suggest away from a brand, but I would with Cobra.

I will keep that in mind. In all honest the cheap spx900 I got is great besides the annoying ass false alerts in town. But I will take your word and save the money for something better

I think you would be pretty impressed with the R1 on range, and I bet the false alerts are much better too(not familiar with spx900 though)!

Well, I wondered if you might want GPS-- I sure would. That would be the R3, and GPS gives it a whole bunch of great ways to quiet things down. You seemed sensitive on price, so I didn't mention it. R3 is around $300 or less I believe. I would absolutely get that if you can afford it. The R series has pretty good filtering compared to what you have. There is supposed to be a update coming that may make it better. The R3 overall, is the absolute best bang for your buck.
