I've read where the Escort redline O is a beast. Isn't that old technology? Is the V1G2 the leader now? Or is it the R7 Uniden? Or am I leaving someone out?

I would check out Vortex Radar on YouTube - he runs tests with multiple radars and compares findings on the forums. From what I remember, the V1G2 is one of the best on the market as of right now for KA. It *barely* beat the UnidenR7, but the strong takeaway from the V1G2 is the filtering which is 100% best on the market right now.

It's a close race between the Uniden R7, Valentine One Gen 2, and the Escort Redline 360c at the moment.

Yeah there's already testing available on the forum you can check out.

Currently it's between the RL360c, R7, and V1 Gen2.

Range is definitely important, but personally I think that if that's all you're looking at, 1) you're missing out on everything else all those detectors offer and 2) you should save your money and stick with a RL O or Uniden R1 instead.

There is mere metres between the V1 Gen2, RL360C and R7 in Ka range. They're all good enough to have you wondering where the cop got to.
The difference in off-axis may be greater, in favour of the Gen2, from anecdotal evidence.
But they're all so close as to make other factors the deciding influence.
If you want to run it as an app based system, Gen 2 is only choice.

I'm an avid follower of Vortex videos and current tests results. However there are so many different frequencies to look at that I get lost and confused with my tiny brain conclusions. I ordered an Escort R360c yesterday because I sold my Max 360c that connected to my ZR5 laser jammer setup. So I figured it would just be a swap out with connections and hope everything falls into place/ I've seen the latest reviews on the barn tests I believe but still wasn't sure if the R360c was that much better than what I sold. I got $560 for it on eB__ and figured Id get the newest toy out there. But as things work out its on an indefinite backorder status. Ill use my R3 in the mean time I guess. Thanks everyone for taking time to reply to my posts and to Vortex for your incredible donations to our hobby! :O)

For many years the segmented Redline/orig/ Beltronics STI units ruled the roads and are in my mind the still standard by which all other should be measured in the range distance cat. I have owned and used a RL/O since 2010. With that being said Filtering of any type , errr: not so much, bells /whistles=none, rear detection avg . Still I swear by mine and still have them in reg rotation as K & X band detection isn't needed here. I type this owning a new RL/360 and a Unidon R3. I have seen them all in action in real driving situations daily and they all preform damm well!
On any given day depending of the many variable conditions each day can bring to a test I know the RL/O can and will be at or near the top in range every time but It cant better the new kids anymore

Yeah, we live in an exciting time in the world of RD's. If Ka is the main concern It's mostly about what features you like between the top detectors at this point.

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor??
At this point, it's simply a matter of preference.... Although one in the pack of three is pricier then the other two. It all boils down to personal preference and to what you want your CM to do. There are so many factors to consider, that doing a search for each would be a huge benefit for your decision making process.

Also look for other test that were done on all three to make sure you get the full picture. @Vortex uses smoke and mirrors....... :D:cheers: LOL!!!! I kid.....

Seriously though, Vortex is a fantastic start and finding other folks who do testing will round out how they perform. At this point they're all comparable.

This makes me wish there was an easy way to quickly and directly test things like BSM filtering which is where we’re starting to see more differences and often times more noticeable / meaningful differences.

It’s pretty straightforward to test long range, POP, and RDD immunity, but I’d personally like to spend more time testing and focusing on other things. I just need a good way of doing so...

Wouldn't that be awesome. To do a test for BSM's to get a bigger clearer picture.

Sure thing-I'm excited to see how it performs compared to my former Max 360c and my current R3. Should be fun!

I agree with every word! @VariableWave 's R7 has also been both my V1G2's as well as his V1G2's little bitch as well! Off axis there is simply no comparison. We haven't tested the new Redline 360 yet. Edit... The V1G2's have also spanked all 5 of my R1's, 3 of my Redline-O's 2 of his R3's and everything else we've run against them!

I hate to ask, but who has a R360c that would like to put in my hands to play and test against this side of my inventory?

I have a few other tests I would like to conclude with and ship off borrowed units after, from Vortex.

Why are you still listed as beginner? I see you all over the place contributing to RDF content. One word... Promotion...

I liked your very recent video related to the Spector 3 immunity on RL 360c (or lack thereof). That would be killer self contained feature rich device for those who need immunity. G2 seems like best option for arrow product where immunity really needs to be assured. That accurate statement?

RL 360c should kill the range of the 360c from all the reports.

With UPS and loafer wearing USPO going nuts on VR because their Jeep and step van delivery trucks are overload with trade ins (yes, confirmed this is true story, shippers were complaining), and a shipping receiving part of the vast VR Blue Ash manufacturing complex filled to the rafters with thousands and thousands of trade in devices, bear witness that the G2 is a runaway seller. Because of on the web reports (including some warts), customer loyalty, VR sales (trade ins or not), are ball busting good.

however @ron topa, made a great choice to get the RL 360c to add to his ER platform. And under 30 day test, he should know of that will be his preference.

I do know, I have been moving my G2 around from vehicle to vehicle enough (because for me it is that good), looks like some retirements coming up for other devices (will sell them for once) and are least one more G2 purchased. Possible RL 360c.

When “Theoreticalia” :suspense: does come out, will see if It changes the game.
