As a side note, DOA stands for Dead On Arrival. As applied here, it would mean you opened the box pulled it out, and it wouldn’t power up. Something you’ve been using for a while that dies can’t be said to be DOA.

Thus endeth this lesson in pedantry.

Try turning the plug 90 or 45 degrees. Some sockets are not smooth all the way around and the outer ground spring connections don't make proper contact.

Didn't you try the 9500ix cord in the R360c or are they different connector now?

I had many 9500ix cords fail.
Yes. My 9500 ix cord still works. I tried it in the r360c with no luck. One time over the years the cord failed at the phone jack end where it plugs into the 9500 ix. I just cut it off and put a new phone jack plug on it. There are just 4 wires that are color coded. I just matched the pattern and placed a new plug. Still working after that repair about 3 years ago.

Shipping back to Escort today. Will be interesting to see how long it takes to get it back

Socket is good. Clean and has good connections all the way around. Believe me I tried wiggling it, turning it around and moving it up and down. Even checked the fuse. My 9500 ix works fine in the socket.
Its not my first rodeo. I have done lots of trouble shooting. Nothing is working. Its going back....

Yes I am familiar with replacing the ends on the 9500ix cords. LOL.
Now I have spare Escort cords after getting extras over the years, I use them to hardwire in my Unidens so I can keep the original cords for when I use the detectors in other vehicles.

Since you tried the cord that still works I'm afraid your problem is the R360c itself.
Hopefully Escort fixes you up quickly.

Shipped off to Escort today. They should get it Monday.
I'll keep you posted on what they do. I'm thinking it is a connection issue where it plugs in. But who knows?
