So I leave my R360c in my car but put it in a cubby between the dash and console. Instead of unplugging it I power it down in the morning when I arrive at my office. At lunch I may make a quick trip to the drive thru for banking or food. I usually don’t power it back at lunchtime because trips are short and no place to drive fast. On Thursday after work it wouldn’t power back up. The 12v lighter socket is good. I plugged my 9500 ix in and it worked fine. I even tried the smart plug from the 9500 ix in the r360c with no luck. The smart plug does not appear to come apart. Some plugs had a fuse. I cracked open the case and did not see a fuse. I did not take the two boards apart. Called Cedar/Escort support Friday morning around 10:00 am. Got in que for a call back. Got busy and missed a call and VM from them around 2:00pm. I called back and the were no longer taking calls.
This unit won’t do anything no matter what I do. Unplug, plug back in. Tap power button, hold it down. Nothing. I ordered this unit on the release date and had it within 2 days. I live in Louisville so shipping time was fast. It was going back until the firmware update then it seemed pretty decent.
I’ll try emailing and calling again Monday. Anyone know of anything I can do to get this unit to turn on besides sending it back?
Thanks

John

Maybe change the fuse if there is one in the power thing that plugs in the cigarette lighter socket. You can get fuses at automotive stores. I’ve replaced fuses on older escort models.

also try unplugging the cord from the side of the detector and replugging- if there is some play it may have slid out of connection

Update - looks like you checked for a fuse. Maybe try it in a diff car

Just for the heck of it, try doing a factory reset. I know there seems to be no power, so this may not help, but you never know.

I checked the fuse for my 12v cig lighter. It’s good. My 9500ix powered up on that cig lighter. I tried it in my other car. Nothing.....

I had unplugged the smart cord when I plugged in the smart cord from the 9500ix with no luck. I then plugged the R360c smart cord back in. No luck.
I guess if I ever get n touch with Cedar/Escort the unit will need to go back.

@Robalo220 , Sorry to hear about the issues on your new R360c. It sounds like you have done a very thorough troubleshooting to try to get your R360c working again.

It sounds like it may have to go back for service. I have had my current Max360c serviced twice, and Escort will normally indicate on the service ticket on what they did in the service repair. I think the service department is back open after being temporarily closed due to COVID-19. Good luck, and let us know what happens.

Yeah I just thought maybe it’d be worth a shot since you hold down MRK & BRT while attempting to power the detector on. A long shot I know.

Did you try connecting the detector to a computer to see if the computer/detector tools recognizes it?

Sorry to hear about this! I know the feeling all too well as my V1G2 also had the dreaded no power on issue! I tried every power cord I own and all of my hardwire installs and all of our cars and still got nothing. It sucked, but VR fixed me right up! I'm sure Escort will do the same for you! Good luck!

Maybe they are using the same FW for the software switching same PS hardware that VR uses for their Device. :) hope you get it fixed easily without issue.

Good idea. I’ll try to connect to a computer tonight and see what happens. I’ll let you know how it goes. If it doesn’t do anything I’ll just send it back for repair

Disappointed to hear this for sure. I will keep an eye on my detector and post if it happens to me.

Update:
Its taken me until Wednesday the 29th of July to get in touch with Escort to create a ticket. Of course they asked me the usual stupid questions like is my screen setting on dark and have I tried to do a hard reset (hold the power button down for an extended period of time). Of course Ive tried all things.
I was waiting in the drive thru line waiting for my chicken biscuit, fiddling with the plug in cord (come on escort that is a phone jack cord from the 1980's) when I noticed the smart plug light up briefly. I can fiddle it around and the lights on the smart plug come on but I still can't get the unit to power up. My guess is its a broken wire in the cord or a loose pin in the plug in female connection that is not letting the unit get power.
Shipping out Friday the 31st to their West Chester location. Will be interesting to see how long it takes to get the unit back. Could just be replacing the phone jack plug on the smart cord or if its in the unit itself, it may take much longer.
Sad if its a broken wire in the smart plug. My 9500ix has worked for years with no issues. Still works as a matter of fact.
Will keep you posted

Didn't you try the 9500ix cord in the R360c or are they different connector now?

I had many 9500ix cords fail.
