To be honest, I don't think she would have been arrested if she would have simply stopped, complied, and been cooperative. I've known of people clocked at much higher speeds who just got a ticket and sent on their way. It has a lot to do with how you respond to the officer.

That stretch of I-15 thru Utah south of SLC down to about Cedar City is the super speedway. Speed limit is 80, I'm usually going 85ish when I'm traveling to/from AZ and get passed like I'm standing still.

Agreed that she would have had much better odds of a jail free evening had she stopped and had a contrite attitude. While not a guarantee, the proper behavior can help you keep a couple of rights that are certain to be taken away otherwise.
