Is the old Escort 360C now a dead product?

Please forgive me as I am a novice. I have a couple of the Escort 360C and periodically come to this forum to see what is the scoop with firmware. I see Escort released a 1.3 version for the Redline Max360C but the old Escort Max360C still is on 1.11.

So what is the story, is the Escort branded stuff now a dead product and Escort thinks everyone that owns a Escort 360C will dump another $800 into new a Redline 360C that looks identical to the old Escort model?

Please educate me. Thank you.

Highly doubt the Max 360c is a dead product. It was asked in a recent thread if one of the R360c’s features would be rolled out to the other ER RDs. ER specifically mentioned the M360c as a candidate

There has been speculation that the M360 (non C) might be nearing the end of their support cycle. As of current it is listed at a discounted sale price of $449.

Also if you consider their pricing structure, the M360c provides a step between their newly released Max3 at $399 and the R360c at $74

It would be nice if they introduced a FW update for the M360 & M360c that incorporates some of the newest features in the R360c such as
  • ZW5/ZR5 auto JTK
  • K notch
  • Enhance IVT logic (if the logic is easily applied to the Max platform, as it is very different from the R360c)
Just my 2 cents...

Edited to add link...

It is a solid detector and I was very happy with the M360c. It has a lot of features, the only issue is the range. But it will still work for a long time - but I bet that Escort will lower the price. I would push back on them if they called it end of life.

I don’t think the Max360c is dead. Escort is still selling new 9500ix’s on their website, and that was introduced many years ago. Escort seems like they discontinue detectors only to bring them back for sale years later.

They may “phase out” the Max360 and let the Max360c take its spot. I would think maybe Escort May drop the price some on the Max360c, but maybe they won’t. It may depend on their inventory of the Max360.

As a detector in their (or any manufacturer) lineup gets older, I would be concerned the firmware updates may be fewer or cease all together. The Max360c is still relatively new in their line up, so I would expect they will still have semi frequent firmware updates since it is on a digital format unlike some of their analog detectors (the original iX which really didn’t have many firmware updates).

@TonyPHX , I know you recently received your third R360c, have you had much time with it to compare it to the first two or your Max360c? I think think that I saw you started a new thread about receiving your third R360c. I will search for that. I hope “the third time is a charm” as the old saying goes applies to Escort sending you a more functional R360c. Now that firmware 1.3 is out, hopefully it will address some of the issues you experienced with the first two R360Cs.

UNFORTUNATELY ....

Yup That has been their past Motis Operandi
(M.O)

THAT is why ... MANY many of us RDF 'rs and others, myself included, go with UNIDEN and RADENSO products Mainly. 😃😃😃😃.

V1 usually doesn't need too many updates Luckily.
So theres that too. 😇😇😇😇

I don’t know about end of life, but updates are usually far and few between.

There’s no money in updates.

The R-EX hasn’t had an FW update in a year now and that was their premium stealth detector up to the recent R360c.

The M360 and M360C haven’t had an update since Last year? October/November/December?

I wish they would take note and change that habit as per what @benzr wrote.

It tough to pay the amount of money for the detector, just to see that they would rather make you buy a new one, rather than perfect the ones they have out already. It does make you Leery after you see that happen more than a few times. Makes you think.... what’s the point?

It’s not cheap like a bit lighter.
