***REMEMBER*** this is just ONE test and one data point. I'm eager to see what others experience. No one should base there opinions solely off of this one test. This test was done with version 1.3 of the firmware. - These are the results from my test on 7/7/20 - Let me know if you have any questions after digesting the data.

Redline 360c settings:

HIGHWAY
KA OFF, SEGS 2/5/8 ON, K & X ON, TSR
TSR OFF
Spec FR1 for signal info

V1G2 settings:
ALL bogeys mode - K Verifier ON

R7 settings:
Advanced, Ka 100%, Rear Bal 100%, K & X ON, Ka filter off.

Setup:
I did a test with the Redline 360c vs V1G2 vs R7. I did 2 runs against a stationary Ka 34.7 Stalker gun both going towards and then going away. Each detector was run independent as to not introduce any interference. I was hoping to get 3 runs in, but ran out of time.

General Observations:
The Redline did MUCH better in this test compared to when I ran it with fw 1.2. see results here: Redline 360c fw 1.2 'Firehouse Course' Testing

The rear antenna of the Redline is finally alive and it logged the longest rear detection of any of the runs. A marked improvement from fw 1.2.

The arrows on the Redline are MUCH improved, as in they actually flip now! :) There has been a marked improvement to the timing and reactivity. One improvement I would like to see now, is a short delay when the side arrows light up to see if the new direction goes back to the originally displayed direction. There seems to be a lot of going back and forth on low signal strength signals between front, middle, back, middle, front etc.

Ramp up and down seemed to be MUCH better as well.

After doing the Firehouse test, I took the Redline for a BSM test through traffic and hunted down the HONDAs and ACURAs. It did really well. It didn't alert to any of them, and I'm super close to saying the Redline has the best BSM filtering of any windshield mount detector on the market. I want some more seat time, but it is looking REALLY good.

The Course:

This course is VERY challenging. Heading North towards the source, you are on the East side of the street and many buildings, trees, etc. block the off-axis signal. Heading South away from the source, you are on the west side of the street and the detector has a little better view of the source, but not much. This is the reason for longer detections being possible from the rear. It really starts to separate a detectors ability to get a whiff of a signal that is off axis and obscured. Overall it is indicative of what I have seen just driving around town and on highways. The V1G2 is EXTREMELY good at off-axis, both on the front and rear horn. The Redline and R7 are close behind. It's awesome to see the Redline in the hunt with fw 1.3. If you are dealing with an ON-axis signal, all 3 of the detectors are EXTREMELY good at detection range.

Thanks for the report! Do you have any dashcam video of the runs? Looking forward to seeing the improved rampup for the RL360c!

I don't, I need to get a new dashcam. I can take a shaky cam video if people want?

Thanks for getting a pretty darn comprehensive test done and written up in a short period of time. When I went out for my 20 minute drive this afternoon to check things out, I don't think I got a single BSM punch-through. My settings were similar to yours except I had X Band off and TSR on. I also saw the much better rear detection range for Ka.

This is the roller coaster of RDs! Those initial marketing numbers (going up the hill), oh the initial release (we know how that went), and boom - right up again for more excitement! What a ride! 🎢

Thanks for the quick testing/results BagNDrag - amazing

Good stuff. :woop: I already made the Redline 360c my daily driver over my R7 even on the 1.2 firmware with the ramp/arrows being bad. Just updated to 1.3 and although I'm tempted to go for a cruise right now based on your reports not much on the board tomorrow so I'll have time to do another few hour highway/country road cruise tomorrow afternoon/evening.

I do have the M1 dash cam but seems when I plug it in no cops and when I'm not recording their everywhere so we'll see how that goes. :D

Takeaway for me is the V1G2 remains a Ka monster, which it has been since day one. I think as more of these tests keep coming up people will realize that more and more; sometimes you don't get much separation but it seems when you really do the V1 shines.

It appears the Redline maybe got a boost in the ass but seems similar on the front as before?

Hopefully now there will be a nice little rivalry between the V1G2 and Redline 360C like the old days, now that the Redline can also filter Honda/Acuras as well, although via a notch... and apparently works a lot better.

Definitely exciting times for those that invested in the detector, I'm sure it's awesome having something that's working a lot better now 👍

Thank you as well!

That's because the cops are becoming camera shy these days with all this stuff going on. They can smell a camera a mile away and they scatter. lol

What your test shows is, that any driver that owns any one of these Radar Detectors is well protected.
Exactly. It now comes down to the feature set people want and the price point they are comfortable with. I really want to see some testing done on reaction time for the R360c so we can compare it to the V1G2 and R7 as well. It would be interesting to see the latch time for each detector after they lose the signal. The rear detection distance I have posted include the latch time (whatever it is) for each detector after they lose the signal.

Man, I love it when I'm surprised by more testing of new detectors! Thanks for your time, efforts and gas, Mark! Great job!

Wow! That sure seems to be one hell of an update! I didn't see that coming I must admit. The thing about the cops not being around when you want one is real, they have dried up all over! Great test! I figured it would be months or even years for Escort to step up to the plate and make such a big improvement, I'm glad I was wrong!

Thank you for taking the time to do the test. I was hopeful that I just needed to sit tight. I can't wait to take a run tomorrow. It is really gratifying that the Cedar CEO took a personal interest and showed up on the forum with the responsible people and pulled it all together.

Good stuff right? Please share your experience after you take it out for a run!

it seems they improved it.

I will wait since my economy does not allow me to dive into a 800 dollar detector .

Had this detector be on the 600 i would probably be planning to buy one but the R7 does just fine at a much lower price point
