Hi everyone, as Gail mentioned in her intro post (https://www.rdforum.org/threads/101691/), I’m the Product Manager for Radar at Escort, and I’m happy to share some Redline 360c updates we’ve been working on based directly on your feedback.

We’ve heard from many of you about what you liked in the new product and also what you wanted to be added, and I want you to know that we appreciate everything you’re contributed. We are listening and will continue to ask for, and take action, on your feedback.

Based on what you’ve told us, we are releasing new firmware tomorrow morning, Tuesday, July 7th. As you know, our Redline 360c is a connected product, and because this platform heavily leverages software, it enables us to easily provide Wi-Fi firmware updates remotely.

I have listed below the product enhancements and new features which we believe will deliver an even better experience. Included in this release are:

Enhancements
  • Better overall sensitivity and response time
  • Faster directional arrow response time
  • Increased rear antenna detection performance and sensitivity
  • Ramp up for K band that is more progressive and linear
  • Reduced random false alerts with laser detection
  • AutoNoX false alerts with X band has been resolved
New Features
  • Added Jam-To-Kill laser jamming feature for ZR5 and ZW5 laser shifters
  • Added Ka Narrows as default to improve response time: improved performance with Ka Narrows (2,5,8) over wide band sweep (default mode now)
  • Added Dragon Eye laser tester detection
  • Added an additional K band filter option, default off (will be added soon to Escort Live)
How to Get the Update
If you are taking advantage of the Wi-Fi connection in your vehicle or have access to Wi-Fi, you will be prompted for the update once it becomes available. If you are not able to access Wi-Fi, you can connect your Redline 360c to your computer via USB (https://www.escortradar.com/pages/update-your-device). There are two different links on the page depending on if you are using Windows or Mac OS.

Keep the Feedback Coming
As I mentioned, we’re eager to hear more from you. We are working on additional enhancements based on feedback here in the forum which will be part of a future release for firmware.

Feel free to message me here in the forum and I will be happy to interact via e-mail for support or questions as well. You can email ([email protected]) and I’ll personally review the emails. Thanks

Joe

I appreciate you sharing this update with the community and including a detailed change log. Awesome to hear that the auto JTK function is being added. Will this be rolled out to the other RDs that interface with the ZW5/ZR5?

Looking forward to feedback from other users, as I do not currently run a Redline360c.

Joe,

Adding Jam-To-Kill laser jamming features to the ZR5 & ZW5s is VERY much appreciated. This feature will help the community tremendously. Thank you for that!

This all we merely ask for, is communication and keeping promises made. Thank you for communicating with us.

If I understand this correctly, the Ka change is simply to what the firmware default setting will become on the new Redline 360c?
If this is the case, would Escort's other MAX segmentable models benefit their owners by making a manual Preference change to their detectors narrow KaN2, KaN5, KaN8 bands from their current wide Ka/On setting or is this just something that impacts the new Redline 360c (software defined radio platform)?

If you wouldn't mind, I'm sure a bunch of us would be interested in how this benefits response time (such as to the RD as a whole or just to Ka, or something else).

Thanks much and appreciate changes/additions . . . and great to have you all here.

With those fixes coming, if you get er done, I might get me one. I'm needing a second detector for my other car. Ive liked the build quality on the escort stuff, the hardware has been good, just the software needs fixing which you are addressing with firmware, as I miss my auto lockouts with all the K band speed signs arizona has been putting up.

Thank you Joe! Thank you Escort! This looks like a fantastic update that will prove the Redline 360 is the beast that it can be. Looking forward to testing once downloaded.

6thgear - the JTK function is being rolled out on the Redline 360c to start. We'll address that for other detectors like the MAX 360c in future releases.

Welcome. I recently returned my new Redline due to its various known issues. If somehow the firmware update tomorrow miraculously fixes ALL of its software shortcomings then I will gladly repurchase it again.

I’m rooting for Escort and the Redline 360c because IF functioning properly, it will be the best all-in-one RD out in the market today.

Back to the red barn? :D

I'm digging the range and filtering on mine as basically the quietest detector I've ever used with the Max360 being the only one in my signature to even come close to the same level of filtering. If this firmware pans out on the ramp/arrows etc... I'll be beyond happy with it. Crossing my fingers.

We haven't seen any K-band testing yet. Maybe it's the quietest because the K-band range is severely crippled? Hard to say without some testing.
