Eight years ago I would have welcomed this and in fact encouraged it......actually worked for it (literally worked for it).

But Escort turned their back here when they didn't like the music........ie. honest and accurate feedback. The truth was that your products were not living up to expectations. Expectations created by over zealous and exaggerated marketing with performance claims that fell short. Far short. We heard the same story then that although we were highly critical of the new digital platforms that they were making a huge splash and were an outrageous success.

But the opinions here and financials didn't appear to follow that story. Your relatively new facility in Mississauga was dismantled and sold off, manufacturing outsourced and your creditor kept reporting huge losses on the nonperforming merger loan. Now that your market share has dropped like a rock and your latest release hitting record RETURNS your back.

Try something different this time. Try being honest for a change. You wouldn't be here now if things were so peachy. This is fire control.......so use water, not gas.

I don't scare easy. lol BTW, you will learn I like the heat, probably all of the years I spent in FL or TX.
Good to know but time will tell..How long were you in your previous role? “Gail most recently served as CFO of Heartland Automotive Services, Inc. (dba Jiffy Lube).” Just curious.

HMM, right about now you're roasting in Chicago, but Chicago heat is nothing compared to FL humid heat (NOT a Nova grad here)....

By way of introduction, let me say that I am one of the first & original purchasers of MOST of your Escort products over the years. I've been to ER in West Chester numerous times and have even visited YOUR Chicago office and gave them my two cents. Yes, I am the original owner of the grand dame of Escort's original wire-bonded M3 based Redline , one of the most tested and evaluated units ever, Old Nelly and was also the original tester (thanks Larry) of the BSRDR firmware before it was introduced to the general public. Let's say that ER and I go waaaay back. Unfortunately, Old Nelly was put out to pasture and still sits in my barn thinking about the good old days before Uniden came and kicked her tail.

Two things and I say this with all due respect: 1. Welcome Aboard and 2. Escort Radar Forum (ERF) hasn't exactly been hospitable the past 3 years to RDF members like myself. I and others give our thoughts or analysis on units and testing and are often summarily dismissed as being "backyard" testers who know NOT what they do. Sorry, we are not bench testers. I've seen your benches and while technologically nice, they are NOT the real world. But, we are willing to look beyond that and I would ask that you may want to return the good old days of allowing us to test units with a NDA before public release so that issues that have plagued the Max, Max II, Max360, Redline 360C are caught before they are introduced to the buying public.

Finally, you can tell from my signature that I've owned or do own just about every unit ER or Bel has ever produced, bar none. I am still somewhat perplexed that a company like Cedar has allowed other manufacturers to literally get so far ahead in features and detection range that the legend of the old M3 based units now appears to be a myth. I still maintain that nothing was/is as good as the old M3 based Redline BSRDR or Bel Stir-O when set up properly. Just add some modern K band false rejection and you'll STILL have one of the best units on the market. Somehow, somewhere, that all got away from Escort and I still shake my head why?? Oh, and Cedar Chicago knew of this because I actually took my R3 there and showed them. This was right after Sally left Cobra. I know, you weren't there, BUT you're there now!!

Thanks for stopping on by the forum and introducing yourself. I know it took a lot of contemplation to do that because this can be a tough crowd.
Thanks for the feedback. We agree that including some of the members into the fold, under an NDA, would be a great partnership. We are working through the details.

You may be my new favorite person. :)

Found this searching the internet, hope nobody takes offense by my posting this.
No offense taken. I have been in the C-Suite for 20 years, primarily leading finance. I am a leader who definitely gets her hands dirty. I will never hold myself out to be a technical expert, I lean on my team for that.

Pleasure to have you here Gail and let's hope you're able to help restore Escort/Cobra's tarnished image and be an honest manufacturer for once and delivers. We shall see, but I am optimistic and hopeful that Cedar Electronics will do better this time around.

I also should have said the picture is 50 years old. lol
Gail, there are several among us that you REALLY ought to listen to and they are those who have both purchased, used, evaluated and also tested your units under a NDA. I'm not going to name them all, but @Nine_C1 is ONE who you really need to listen to and intently at that. He has both experience and the "technical" knowledge you seek to understand what it takes to make a great detector. NOT only that, but he's an all around nice guy, one who I would let babysit my border collies.

Aside from the financials, which are always a priority in the C Suite, you really need to focus on the wisdom of the crowd, that being this forum with combined thousands of years of RD user experience. Making a great detector will certainly help Cedar to improve market share and better those financials. WE know you have it in you, certainly, the M3 based units do, its a matter of where there's a will, there's a way.

A whole hearted +1 on this. Please take the time to listen to what he has to say.

Pish, I'm ignoring that one...

Welcome Aboard Gail!:parrot:

As an MAX II user I have been well taken care of. I would like to see some sort of remote that can be used with your detectors. I have just purchased an additional smart cord I am going to cannibalize to see what I can come up with myself, but would absolutely prefer a factory solution.

I hope this is a fruitful partnership for you and your company.
