I too have noticed 1.4 to be much chattier on those crazy high Ka ranges. BUT.....I'm going to wait to 1.5 and give that a chance to correct it prior to making a permanent change. On a really good note....I ran into a cop who was running Ka CO (34.7) and picked it up from over 2+ miles away. The ramp up was spectacular and the flip was on target. Seems the real issue in my experience is the IO and the absolute crazy overloads when nothing is around. Gets it's ass kicked a lot.

That's all for now. @GailFromCedar @JSherbondy where on earth is 1.5? #HELP #MAYDAY

Exactly what I was looking for. Mine has been crazy lately. On some days when I get Ka Band other than 34.7 it screams forever like for miles. Then there are days that it is unusually quiet. This is running segment 2,5, and 8 only I also was getting so much K band I turned it off on the highway. I know who uses it and who doesn't in all the cities off the highway. K Band just got way too annoying on the hwy. Hope 1.5 improves this if it ever comes.

Hi Spanky - we are working on a couple of different items now. We may do a couple of releases - one in the near term (weeks) and one longer term ( a couple of months).

@JSherbondy , here’s hoping that you and everyone else at Cedar Electronics are doing well and staying safe.

Is there any information that you can share with us concerning the pending FW releases that you mentioned back on 21 October?

Thank you for your continued efforts and support for the Escort RL360C owners/community. 👍

All, sorry for the delayed response. We are still listening to you and working on updates. @JSherbondy will update you shortly.
@GailFromCedar thanks for making yourself (and team) available in this forum! Great move to be listening and engaging in these discussions with your consumers; it goes a long way to giving me confidence in the brand and future products.

I'm a longtime satisfied Escort user (and infrequent lurker on this list) who is currently rocking the old 9500ci which is integrated into my 997.2 & performing nominally, but at some point, I'll be interested in replacing it with more refined and capable tech, although I'm really not looking forward to it for the obvious reasons: the original install was expensive and I'm not keen on removal of the old hardware and installation of new hardware.

Nonetheless, a simple path to hardware upgrades is probably a subject that you guys are always considering, so thanks for any thoughts on the matter as I would suspect, many people are like me who on the one hand, know that better tech = more chance to avoid being stopped by LEO, but on the other hand, are not in a hurry to upgrade because of the uninstall and new install cost/time.

Any thoughts on how I could swap out a new unit for the 9500ci and leverage all of the other hardware of the install???

PS Gail, I have another matter that I'd like to communicate to you, so I'll try to send a PM...thanks again for listening!

Hope that all is well with you and yours and everyone else at Cedar Electronics!

Although it doesn't look like you've been on the forum since 24 November, we're still really looking forward to hearing about the RL360C update(s) that @GailFromCedar mentioned in her post from 09 December.

Hopefully you'll have some great news for all RL360C owners before Christmas or will give us something to look forward to right after the holidays.

Thank you in advance for your update. 👍

Quick question, looking for a update. I have a Redline EX gathering dust on the shelf. There are many things I like about this creature. However the deal killer for me and so many others, the EX BSM is not so great, AND when it does it’s alerting, it goes full blast. Will there EVER be any of the magic BSM sauce on the RL 360c FW added to the EX? Or some kind of hardware upgrade (like VR used to do with the V1)? Is the Redline EX a dead duck for the improvements needed? I would like nothing better than adding this back into the fleet.

As you can see below, the radar detector fleet is decent sized for a decent vehicle fleet.

Merry Christmas.

Gail, I'm a long time Escort user I have had many Escort and Bel detectors going back to the late 70's. I now have an RL 360c and this is by far the best detector I have ever owned when working as it should. I have posted on Escort Form under bluelinex the problem this detector has with my new 2021 Cadillac XT5, it will not show the posted speed limit. I have tried just about everything, it shows up as connected to my car in the Escort Live App and in the cars WiFi system. The detectors WiFi on the screen is white so I know it's connected to the car, but no speed limit in the display. Also the Red Line will not up date thru the XT5 WiFi, I have to connect it to my computer.
Please look into this as I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem. The Cadillac has WiFi#4, this same detector worked just fine in my 2017 Impala that I traded in. Thank you and happy new year.

IMO, the EX just was not everything Escort or Customers hoped it would be as a successor to the original. The range/sensitivity is slightly above the Max 360 series, but nothing significant really. The Max 360's have much better BSM filtering and arrows. The only reason to purchase an EX was if you used it where RD are illegal as, until then, Escort did not have a 'useable' stealth RD in their line up.

As for the internals, I leave that up to the experts on here, but I believe they are somewhat similar to the RL360c (please correct me if I am wrong though). As with the Max 360 series the updates finally trickled down to the standard Max series, but that that did not happen for a significant amount of time as they wanted to fix the bugs/issues in the 360 series before dealing with the older Max models.

Given the RL360c is their new 'flagship' I have a feeling that will get their full attention for a while. The Max 360 series, IMO, is pretty much perfect right now. I can't think of a single issue that needs to be addressed or improvement that I would like to see added. So, hopefully when the RL360c is fined tuned to where it should be they 'should' be able to jump right into working on the EX (should they feel it needs work).

Who knows what Escort has up their sleeves though, they released the K-Notch for the Max series as a surprise.
