I’m sure this was previously mentioned but QUIET RIDE feature is a must if you do a reasonable amount of city driving!
Yes! Got to see that in action. Set mine to 20, may go higher. But seemed to work great in store parking lots. Damn, I am enjoying this thing. No dread when I get in the car.

Now, can somebody educate me on how to add the R7 user bar?
Funny you ask as I literally just now found it.
GO into "signatures" and at the top of the, um... "composition box" look for the smily face scroll down and there they are.

EDIT: ok there SOME are

Definitely need to go higher. 35 is a safe number. Some even set it to 40/45 but me personally I’m not comfortable going that high.

BTW, gonna miss seeing you in the Escort forum. 🤣

Im new to the r7 i love the quite ride hell i got it set on 50 smooth sailing !! I dont think that when u cut the rear sensitivity down on k it cuts down on KA I see some pretty long-range rear KA still and not near as far k alerts , seems like a solid unit so far not alot of time on it yet but , i got leos everywhere !!

Did you do the blendmount mod to mount the r7?
I ordered the R7 blendmount and did not have to mod anything. I thought I saw a video about modding something but not sure what that is about.

Big fan of blendmount. Looks very clean with the r7 and gave me plenty of room for the top buttons.

I dont think that when u cut the rear sensitivity down on k it cuts down on KA
The rear balance setting affects all bands (including Ka), and is multiplied by the sensitivity setting (Highway, City, Advanced). So if you're running Highway mode and have rear balance set to 50%, all bands will be at 100% sensitivity on the front horn and 50% on the rear horn.

In City mode with 50% rear balance:
Front: 100% Ka, 18% K, 18% X
Rear: 50% Ka, 9% K, 9% X

In Advanced with [email protected]%, [email protected]%, and rear balance at 80%:
Front: 100% Ka, 50% K
Rear: 80% Ka, 40% K

Et cetera

That looks really clean and solid.
My personal setup is mounting up behind the frits tint strip on our vehicles.
Mostly because I personally have been ticketed by RCMP and lectured with glee how they love to catch and ticket people with detectors.
I prefer not to have a visible CM and just smile to myself as I drive by.
The glares you get and wondering if your going to get pulled over and given a 1 over PSL ticket, or hassled for something else is not missed now I'm hidden.
Sad that RD is perfectly legal here but triggers as heavy bias against you if seen.
My own mother (76 yrs) got stopped at a road stop check and the RCMP grilled her about the detector. She acted flustered and stated that beeping thing is her husband's and he put it there and told her to leave it.
They let her on her way probably with a laugh and eyeroll.
But they be dicks about it here.
Probably because so many of they come from and trained in Eastern Canada where it's all illegal.

Oh wow, that sounds frustrating. Yes, they are heavy handed here in Arizona too. Well specifically where I live. Small cities with no budget control, so they make it up in tickets. Add to that the overstaffing of these guys...it is crazy between city, county and state patrols, all ham handed goons.

My windows are legal tinted, so pretty hard for them to see into cabin. I am just going to drive and be happy. In fact, it is time for me to step away from the keyboard and explore the highway! (My chosen Covid safe stress relief.)

I also received my new R7 from Tom two weeks ago. I love it. It many features to cover most issues. It is a little chatty compared to my R1 but I base that on an additional antenna. I run City for k-band with 30% rear. We have C/O k-band here. I did experience two different scenarios. While on Quiet Ride or Low Speed muting, there were two different events that occurred. 1. I approached a known false alert and two beeps then quiet. 2. I approached another known false alert and went quiet immediately. Any ideas on the two different events? I have it set at 30 mph and both times were about 15 mph.
