The same one I use today, the V1, albeit not the same version I had originally. I value situational awareness and the arrows make the guessing game easier. Not to mention, a concealed display which was quite useful in the pre app days and comes in quite useful for driving in VA. The situational awareness aspect of the V1 has continued to this day with app integration which is unrivaled in any RD to this day. So for me, I see no reason to change what works and the V1 gets the job done.
Before I had a license to drive my mom bought a Tandy (Radio Shack) RD. It was a bit smaller than the original Escort, but bigger than the Passport. It worked ok on the highway but super chatty in town. The first RD I bought was the Escort DSP. Great on the highway. I loved it right up to the point Ka came on scene. It's funny Escort sold them during the Ka beginnings, but stressed that there are "only a few guns out there". RRRRRRRR. I found one. Next stop, Valentine One.
