My eight your old son now has a song that he sings when we drive. He literally sings "Beep Beep, I'm a Jeep, Beep Beep I'm a Jeep" and also "Bonga Bonga, I'm a Honda" over and over as the BSM filter is non-existent from what I can tell
Shit, i guess @TonyPHX's kid's songs were actually lullabies putting the 360 to sleep....

(yes lockup bug, not sleeping. Let me have this one)

That is really too bad. I have to tell you, having gone through two of these units, and having put a LOT of drive time on both of them, I feel like I know it inside and out. (In it's 1.2 firmware version persona of course) and I was just really perplexed.

I have had a fair number of detectors over the years, and all of them were Escort (don't judge me...lol). I had the Solo battery powered one, the 8500, a CI one who's number I forget (Whatever they were selling in 2009 - I had it installed in a 2009 SRT8 Challenger, and kind of gave up on them for a number of years, before getting back into it. Well, all of those Escorts were at least predictable. The R360c - well, this thing did not feel right from the first ten minutes on a drive.

I have done some reading here to try to catch myself up with lost time. I had no idea Escort had slipped so badly. When I joined the forum I believe I had even commented that it looked like Escort was not too loved here. I should have taken the time to see more about why.

1. I did not know about missed promises on laser stuff.
2. I did not know about them suing other manufacturers....(that kind of crap annoys me because, well it just does.)
3. Had no idea about their behaviors on stifling communication on their forum, etc.

Anyways - Escort did not do themselves any favors. Vortex said it best that their marketing claim was just unreasonable and the product itself did not deliver on the basics. <paraphrasing, but you get it>

Escort should realize the brand damage they have done to themselves. My time and effort, the blend mount I purchased for it, the time to do a mirror tap, etc. Time to learn the unit, configure etc. It just was not a good experience. Sure I had a few laughs, but damn. It gets me mad to think of the fact that I am sure there are some damn good nice people that work there that probably outta be out looking for jobs because this is a major sign of a company in trouble. Somebody in management needs to really get called out for their lack of leadership and execution. Arrows can be fixed....first impressions, well not when they are this bad.

It's ACTUALLY WORSE ... Sigh

IMHO No Limits (Jon of Radenso) PAID THE PATENT ROYALTY FEEs to Escortobra FOR GPS Lockouts
... to which ...
ESCORT/MONOMOY repaid his Loyalty snd Money PAID to them ...

by ACTUALLY Suing JON because the Royalty Contract with was with Radenso not No Limits.
IMHO At the time one and the same.

IMHO EXTREMELY SLEAZY SNAKISH VICIOUS
thing to do to someone who is ACTIVELY PAYING YHE ROYALTIES.

I THINK IMHO many here have forgotten what
Escort/Monomoy did to Jon of Radenso.

IMHO TOTALLY VICIOUS ...
TOTALLY INEXCUSABLE. ....

IMHO BOTH COMPANIES Jon owned as of the Lawsuit.

We’ve all been there. Your not alone.

There’s a lot of people that don’t know or never take the time to look.

You would think that companies would get a grip.

If they did it right, there probably wouldn’t be as many members here. You only start looking for answers when there’s a problem.

@TonyPHX
Wait till you get to the higher levels. There’s more to see.
Glad to see your keeping your sense of humor.

Yeah, I don't know the details and don't need to. Things like that just spin me up, and well, that is why I need to drive once in a while to de-stress. That kind of bad behavior brings a lot of bad Karma.

Well Heywood, one of my favorite quotes is the one about not seeing how the sausage is made. : ) I don't need to see more info to learn that there are enough well advised people here who's opinion I can trust. I'm gonna play with R7 until Theia, and just enjoy my drives. And to the point about keeping humor - amen brother. That is all I have keeping me looking up in 2020.

IMHO Escortobra should just DROP THE LAWSUIT ...Period.
Not fair, not right, and not ethical either.

AND FOCUS ON FIXING THE REDLINE 360C
... then we can forgive them and start considering their products again IMHO.
I HAD forgotten this as many here have.
I TOTALLY LOVED MY REDLINE ORIG for years !! It was a TOTAL BEAST until the BSM wave hit. Anywaaaaays my .02 cents.

Been there and done that. One of the best things that I did was to join this forum, learned the truth about rds, stopped buying Escort detectors, and bought an R3 which has been working great with minimal bugs for the last few years.

the Redline C is a disappointment.. what a surprise..

I totally expected this to be poop. They can't even fix their 360c going to sleep but out of the sudden they bring out a detector and everyone loses their minds..

I warned people to wait and see before dropping 750 dollars on a project.

Yes...they've did, done, fu#@ked themselves yet again for sure with this one! I really don't get how they can possibly think this is going to end well for them as a company, when they continuously release one turd after another, all the while completely slapping their customers in the face in the process. I moved on from Escort back in the original Max days and haven't looked back. I guess I've looked back at them release one sh#t show after another...all the while thanking my lucky stars :911: that I didn't allow them to use me as a beta tester to fix all the kinks, problems and issues in their latest wonder detector :350: . But to top it all off they continue expecting we the customer to fork over exorbitant prices for these underperforming piles of crap!

Don't worry - the lockups are fixed on the M360c, Right??

Must be something wrong with this persons detector that is unique to them, they should send it in, only to receive it back in the same condition.....

V1s QC issues are not looking too bad after you browse the escort fourms for 10 minutes.

The RL 360c NEVER should have been released this way. I'm sure it has some of the best components you can put in a detector, but what good is it if it does not process the radar signals correctly. Someone at Escort did not do their job. My R3,R7 and V1G2 will out perform the Red Line 360c in just about everything.

Thanks for the video! Yeah so that frozen Escort Live alert is different than a traditional lockup like we see with the Max’s. When Escort Live countdowns freeze like that, it’s usually because the detector loses a connection to the phone app. You can recreate the issue pretty easily by force closing the app on your phone during a Live alert so it stops reporting info to the detector. That happens with any Live detector, not just the RL360c.

I’m not sure how long it waits before that alert times out and I haven’t tested it to see if that also prevents traditional radar detection, but I don’t think it does.

Either way, that is different than the normal lockups we’re used to.

I am not sure how you would know this. What are "normal" lockups? I would offer that none should be considered the norm, especially after the sleeping bug was supposed to be fixed in the FW.

The majority of my 360 lockups were while using Live where I lost cell signal in the mountains, but rarely is it during a Live alert - so that is what i am used to. My Ex lockups could have been similar as it only happened in the mountains.

I think a lot of the current lockups are actually caused by Live in some fashion, this one is just easier to see. And it does prevent radar detection on my 2 models, I posted one video of the GT 360 that froze with the speed limit fed from live and it failed to detect a few stalkers.

Yeah so lockup issues (when the detector freezes in the middle of a radar alert, stops ramping up or down, and continues beeping even after the signal is gone) can happen with or without a connection to Escort Live.

You can see a couple lockups with different detectors in this video, including even in the thumbnail with a Max360c lockup when not connected to Live.

The sleeping issue (detector freezes when no alert is present and won’t alert to any new signals), I don’t know what causes that and if it’s related to Escort Live in any way.

Now as for Escort Live alerts freezing up like shown here, again you can recreate that pretty easily by force closing the app during an alert. It’s true that we don’t know for sure if it is the same underlying issue as what I think of as the traditional or normal radar lockup issue, but given that the lockup issue can happen independent of an active Live connection, I think they’re two separate issues, even if they look similar when the issue happens.

This is just sad.
If there was one thing and one thing only that Escort had better not do, was make another lockup/sleep fiasco.
