No i'm in the USA in Ohio so MRCD isn't an issue, also bsm filtering is a big thing because we all know the amount of new cars on the road, pretty much every car has bsm.

That's a good point I should make, it would be great if the detector was sturdy without having to be connected to a phone, like what escort is doing with their app, I don't like the idea of my info potentially being sold to third parties because it tracks so much info.

Let's also revise that price and say under 600 US dollars, with a ticket and insurance increase due to the ticket, it pays for itself so I don't mind spending the money.
Your Max360 idea is sound based on your driving habits. I have one. Never an issue. Very quiet. Not just BSM, it will also figure out stationary false alerts on its own outside of the auto lock out. The auto lock out works well for evey5ung else. Fire and forget. No app needed. Although the app ER has is good. Easy to adjust device settings this way too (menu buttons are ok too. I like to do any adjustments from the phone).

certainly have no arguments on the G2 and R7 suggestions. I own both, run both.

IF your driving habits and desires you listed stay the same, I think the Max360 by a nose the better choice. The 360c has more reported issues (I have not experienced any). max360 price is better. IF the GT360 that are in eBay now we’re $100 less, I would recommend that for your use immediately. I have one (purchased on sale for little under $300). Excellent performance, and best BSM filtering of all the Max products I own. Don’t know why, but it rocks (firmware 1.0).

Why do you need a detector if you're law abiding🤔
Personally, I need one because I'm a certified road criminal. second only in this country to murderers and rapists.
uhhhh... just to ya know, alert other cars around me there's a cop, giving that I always drive 5 under the limit :smug:

I've got the same question, and am in a similar-enough environment. Thanks everyone!

I appreciate your recommendations, I'm in agreement with you on them (except for Escort, fool me twice...)
Yea, i would look more into the escort but, the sensitivity of the r7 brought me to buy the r7, when you're going 120 plus you come up on police pretty quick when coming around a bend... in mexico of course, so the earlier warning is important.

When I get it i'll use it a week, give my initial impressions and then after I dial it in to the settings that work best for me I will do another update on performance and false alerts.

If you have deep enough pockets my idea is right now pick up a Uniden R1, I see one available on Amazon for $199.64. That gets you in the detector game with very good range. No GPS. Then, use it while you wait for Theia to come out. At that point (check early reviews of Theia here to confirm it works) sell the R1 and get a Theia.

If you don't mind using your phone with a detector the V1G2 is one of the best right now. If not the R7 is right up there with the V1. If you need MRCD-MRCT detection then go with the R7, it does a very good job at finding this low powered radar. The V1 can not detect MRCD-MRCT.

Thanks, i'm leaning more towards the R7 it looks like, anyone have any input on the escort max 360?
As an owner of R7, R3, V1G2 and Max 360c I can tell you each one of these detectors is top notch in their own way. For me my favorite is the Max 360c. It doesn't have the range of the others but it's still a very good detector and does everything else so well it makes up for it. This is the detector I want my wife to use, all she has to do is drive. This detector will keep her informed about speed & red light cams and other Escort drivers encounters with radar automatically.
You will need to have WiFi in your car so the detector can connect to the cloud. The price for this $649 but Escort will run a sale on their web sight. They may have a sale this weekend, it being 4th of July. Good luck.

I have the GT360 which is the equivalent Bel version. Has auto lockouts and if you aren’t over the limit by much it isn’t bad. Ecort says they’ve fixed the sleeping issue too. Don’t expect many FW updates with any ecort model. Ecort was selling the GT off on eBay since it wasn’t very popular. Could save some $ if you like it’s look.
For $50 more the R7’s range will blow away anything ecort sells
