I would be interested in who is returning there Redline 360c for a replacement or refund and who is going to wait for the firmware update to see if that fixes all the issues. I would think the replacements just might have the same issues (thoughts)

I’m waiting since I’m doing testing and videos and want to see what the updates do. I’m hoping it gets better so it becomes a solid detector that I’d enjoy driving with. A properly functioning RL360c I think would be great. Plus once it’s more developed, I want Escort’s best to test against Theia, so... :)

If it wasn’t for that, given Escort’s track records with updates, I’d probably return and reevaluate once they have a good update.

I'm In! For Return! And! FULL Refund!
That's $950!

After Seeing Jon's Video From Radenso Yesterday In the AM, I'm ALL-IN For Return!
The Escort 360c, Is Poo Poo CaCa!!! X-0

It's Built On "OLD" Technology! No AI! No FPGA! (An ABSOLUTE MUST NOW).
And! No Updated Firmware Is Going To Correct 2015-Tech For $750-Buck$!...

Escort Has To Start From the Beginning With the Latest Technology Available! Even Inventing It!
And Build A New Chassis With FPGA! And With An Actual AI For the Redline 360c!
Just Like Elon Musk Did With the Model (3), He Shut Down Production!
Slept On the Factory Floor! And Started From Scratch! And Updated Everything!

[email protected]@Ks More Like They-(Escort) Are Trying To Make Up For Lost Profits!
They Got Greedy Buying Up Everyone Else! That They, Forgot To Take Care of Those
Who Took Care of Them! "US"!!!

A Cow In Cheetahs Clothing! Is Still A "COW"!!!

Anyone See Jon's Videos From Radenso? It's "REAL BAD"!

I agree that's why I'm in a wait and see mode also. I have been going between auto and highway and it's much quieter in auto. The arrows are a different story ,like others have said there all over the place . i'm Just hoping the next update helps

Exchanging, but if the next unit does the same goofy stuff on arrows, then it goes back for refund. I do not need a Honda Detector that coincidentally shows me the wrong direction for radar detection.

And once I get the new unit, I am ok with waiting a few days for a firmware fix, but not going to wait for an undetermined amount of time and miss the 30 day return window. This should have been right at product launch. If these were minor issues, I could see it, but to not even have proper alerting and have arrows pointing the wrong way? This had better be a case of a few bad units. The support person I talked to today assured me that "a limited number of users were reporting issues" and that the replacement would solve my issue.

So ok, I am trying to make this work. There are some good things about this unit that I like. I like the display, the build quality, the alert tones, etc. In general, it is a good external appearance. Just need the unit to perform a little more like the launch day video showed.

LOOKING AT YOU ESCORT. Don't show me a cool video then deliver me a dud.

Tasman, compared to others on the forum I am likely the least knowledgable. But having driving around with this thing for a while, I want to caution you on Auto. Yes, it is quiet. Too quiet. I am 100% convinced that on Auto in some situations it was not alerting me at all when in the presence of K band. All of the tests I have seen so far have been Ka. I think a K band test is really called for ASAP.

I am thoroughly ready and willing to admit I may be 100% wrong here, but while using this I had way to many patrol vehicles that would normally be emitting K band that were stone cold silent. Apologies if this ends up just being noise, but please be careful until and unless tested to be working well.

Escort has definitely shot themselves in the foot with their exaggerated marketing claims and poor firmware and support out of the gate.

IF they can get the units to function as advertised with future firmware updates then the RL360c, while still overpriced, will become a very attractive “all-in-one” RD. That’s definitely a BIG “if” though.

As much as myself and many others have bashed it, I will say that it's a great looking, feature-packed RD that given a lower price point with the weak rear horn, lazy arrows, delayed alerts and other issues corrected - then it’s a very tempting purchase.

Either way I hope Escort delivers what they promised to their paying customers and restore their once glory as being a top player in the RD game! In the end, better competition benefits all of us who pay top dollar for these wonderful toys!

I bought a Passport Escort 9500 18 years ago and the power supply went out on it. I had owned it for less than a year. Maybe 6 months or so? And then kaboom! Well, guess who I bought from this time? Not Escort. (Valentine1) Not, saying it's a bad brand. But, damn stand behind your product. A simple component that you know you should fix is worth fixing.

Side note: 22 years ago I bought a portable Sony CD Player. Ran great for all of 5 minutes and then started skipping all the time. Sent it in for repairs at a local shop, and it took almost 3 months to get the CD Player back both times. Never stopped skipping. The last Sony product I bought was a PS2, in 1999. I bought an Xbox in 2002. Never looked back.

I'm debating, but I'm leaning toward keeping mine. Drove with it today it seems like re-updated to 1.2 made false less to some BSMs I was getting alerts to on 1.1. Might have just been the traffic but I could have sworn I passed some newer Honda Ridgelines that had BSM and it didn't alert like 1.1.

Still have concerns about the arrow lagging issue and poor rear antennas but I'm crossing my fingers it be fixed in an update soon.

I am hoping this warranty exchange works out for you and solves some, most, and hopefully all of the issues......some type of significant improvement before the firmware update occurs.

When I bought my Max360c in Feb 2019 (it had been out for over a year) my first unit had some significant issues, and I opted for a warranty exchange instead of getting my money back. My replacement unit has been sent back twice for service, and it unfortunately just experienced another sleeping issue about 6 weeks ago under the latest firmware.

Having said that, the firmware updates for my Max360c from 1.5 (which was the firmware both of my Max360c units shipped with) until the latest 1.11 that I have been using since the last service in November of 2019 has shown a significant improvement with the exception of 1.9 that caused a significant increase in laser false alarms. Also, with the exception of the non frequent and random sleeping issue my Max360c still experiences (which is a pretty big deal and exception to me), the Max360c performs well 97-99% of the time. I just hope I don’t get hit by police radar when my Max360c is taking a nap.

On the Auto vs Highway issue, I very rarely use Auto mode due to the “fuzzy logic” that has been used to describe the K-band filtering of the recent Escort models, and the fact I encounter a lot of real police K-band.

I wish you well, and I hope this replacement R360c is much better than the first one. I am one who wants to see the R360c live up to : 1) what is printed on the box 2) what is described in the promotional videos and on the website. I also want to see the R360c be a worthy successor to the Redline-O.

So it looks like they are processing returns despite the fact their website indicates they are temporarily suspended due to Covid?
I assume that they are also taking repairs and trade-in again too? Would be nice if they updated their website to note that change as it might help sales/service.

I just spoke to them, they are doing returns and replacing "defective " units but no repairs as they are closed and working from their homes.

I am still debating this very thing myself. My unit has all the issues that have been reported and if what Escort says is true that it is due to being a defective unit then I may give them a call today. It really is unusable at this point. You can't trust the alerts.

If many people with R360Cs are reporting these same issues do think its more likely that all their units are defective or the firmware they wrote for it is just garbage?
