Thanks,
I tried more exposure focused on the display and could get a clear picture with overexpose view out the window.
The smart phone kept correcting my mistake and wouldn't let me keep the setting.
My long arm mount is too wobbly without a support hanging way out there, I will keep thinking on how to improve this.
Try different shutter speeds on your camera to find one that will sync with your r7

I tried everything camera setting on my phone, dash cams and never could I get a clear picture of the R7 screen to reduce the screen flicker.
Hints from you pros?
Film at night....lol. All my dashcam video of the display in the day does that (usually worse because my dashcam is cheap). Never an issue at night. Of course I am half-joking and definitely not a pro. ;) Alternatively, if you can film indoors, also not a problem, just make sure you change the display brightness to dimmer.

I got the Viofo A119v3 working well with more exposure, (longer shutter speeds) and perhaps 50fps helped.
Cell phone was a pain.
Action camera works well with more exposure too, but can cause falses.

I just fly my drone in the car to film the detector in action.

On YouTube there is a channel that comes up in my feed, VIDEOS from NH or something like that. He posts various R7 encounters with Ka band police, and his videos show the fact of the R7 clearly and without flickering. Whatever he is doing, it works.

Found it: https://www.youtube.com/c/VideosfromNH/videos

Had to edit this. I said it was from NJ not NH. Apologies if I insulted. : )

I have been able to get good video of R7 screen with 2 out of 3 cameras.
2 of 3 cameras can trigger R7 falses if too close like needed for close up demos.
That leaves me with the Viofo A119v3 as my default for now and I can work well with that.
It was just difficult to mount in best location.

I would never presume....
Maybe if that did happen the videos made for instruction of basic functions could be saved into the OP and labelled for quick reference?
A video catalog of instructions:pseudo:

Check out this video on eliminating camera flicker. If you can’t get it to work you may need to update your camera

The @DC Fluid videos are incredibly helpful and should be required viewing for those new to Uniden. @DC Fluid - if you ever want some video editing assistance, I am happy to lend a hand. I am far from professional at editing, but have always enjoyed working on video editing.
Haha!
I just got to do it and learn.
Never had the need or desire until RDFever warped my priorities!

Very cool. Yes, it is not that bad when you dig in. At least in your videos the audio levels were great, and explanation was good. Not like you really have to edit a bunch of things on the video.
