Question on this. I’m new to Unidens and just installed my R7. I checked the detectors firmware version via the menu and it says :

-DB VERS 20/04/06
-Firmware 129.129.113

I went on Uniden’s website and downloaded what I believed to be the latest version. The download folder shows:

-DB_20200106.bin
-r7_v129.129.113_db191002.bin

Am I already on the latest ? Trying to understand the discrepancy with the naming convention in use

Also, do these updates also update Red Light database updates ?

Thanks

129.129.113 is the latest firmware. The firmware package also updates the Red Light database. Others can chime in if I am wrong, but I believe you have the latest there as well.

The most up to date red light database available on the Uniden support page is January 6, 2020. So your detector shipped with a red light database that is more up to date than what is available for public download. As was stated, 129 is the latest firmware, so you’re good to go until Uniden releases further updates.

As far as the naming of files, and how Uniden organizes their firmware update page, let’s not even go there! [emoji23]

Isn't the 129 firmware the one that has arrow issues?

Not that I’m aware of... My arrows work the same on 129 as they did on earlier firmwares, in which they are mostly accurate unless there are a ton of objects causing reflections causing the arrows to bounce.

I'll let you know if they reply to my inquiry.
