All, in my experience, Waze can be flaky at times. I'd recommend either JBV1 or Highway Radar to get the alerts that Waze sometimes forgets are there. Both Android apps happily exist in the background while Waze is on the screen. Both apps can open Waze for reporting with one button if you prefer to do it that way. :)

I really, really wish they weren't Android-only applications. I totally understand why they are, but for a native Apple person like myself, the whole second phone thing really just feels impractical personally. I know things are even getting easier with cheap data plans and cheap inactivated phones you can buy from stores like Walmart, but that on top of the whole process of charging and setting up a second phone for every a drive is just a lot to me personally. For people like me, JBV1 and Highway Radar might not be an option sadly and Waze is all we get.

Waze can suck at times, but it's the best we have right now. It's certainly the most used app for crowdsourcing this data. I've admittedly never used Escort Live, but I've heard a lot of complaints about it here. Probably more complaints than compliments.

There's something lacking in the iOS arena for sure that an app like these doesn't exist. I don't know what it is personally.

Long time V1 owner here (16 years). I’ve never had a detector with GPS or any other “connected” features and just had a few questions, as I’m about to pull the trigger on a Max360c or Redline

-Does the “Escort Live” community actually provide any value ?

-Have you gotten any tickets with your Max360c or Redline ? (I’ve had only 1 in 16 years, due to laser)

Thanks
I just ran 1100 miles with Uniden R7, and it’s my new favorite detector! The arrows work better than escort ramp up is better. As far as easy to set up escort is easier thanks to the app the casing on the escort is better. Both will save you from a ticket but R7 has a better chance of saving you from instant on! I hope this helps you, and laser get a jammer, if you see or travel in a state with dragon eye get alp if you don’t then you might have a good set up with escort ZW5 equip with the 360c just make sure you disable when you get hit!

As somebody who had the Max360c and now the Redline 360c, I would suggest considering alternatives unless Escort gets the Redline 360c working. Some very serious oddities with it right now. Also Escort Live adds little value to the device. It is not the Waze experience you are looking for.

If Radenso had already released their Theia platform with an actual AI inside (unlike Escorts supposed "AI" ), then yes you'd definitely be dissapointed. But since that's not the case yet, I think you'd probably really like what Escort has to offer over the V1. The Uniden R7 is a great choice too!

Agreed. I have an R7 right now waiting on the Radenso Theia to be released later this year and see if it lives up to it's bold claims and it really is the best detector out there overall (including against the V1G2).

You're going to love it. The R7 is a great RD.

As far as EL, this about sums it up. I assume they just leave the air patrol report up all the time. But, it's an IMC with low IFR day and Va no longer uses air patrol. So, you end up with useless reports.
