***REMEMBER*** this is just ONE test and one data point. I'm eager to see what others experience. No one should base there opinions solely off of this one test. This test was done with version 1.2 of the firmware. - These are the results from my test on 6/10/20

Redline 360c settings:

HIGHWAY
KA SUPERWIDE, K, X ON
TSF OFF
Spec FR1 for signal info

V1G2 settings:
ALL bogeys mode

I did a test with the Redline 360c vs the V1G2. I did 4 runs against a stationary Ka 34.7 Stalker gun both going towards and then going away. Each detector was run independent as to not introduce any interference.

First off, I REALLY want the Redline 360c to shine, it has so much to offer, but in my first experience it fell short in the range expectations.

The V1G2 beat the Redline 360c in every run, and in the rear antenna match-up, the Redline 360c really struggled to keep up.

3 of the four runs the V1G2 beat it by a good margin. On one run, the Redline 360c alerted closer to the V1G2s mark, but was about 20 feet later.

The rear antenna of the Redline wasn't a match for the V1G2 at all. The V1G2 would detect the radar source for 100s of feet longer than the Redline. When I turned up a street 90 degrees from the source and driving away, the V1G2 still kept the signal. It appears the Redline's off axis is lacking compared to the V1G2 as well. The Redline didn't alert anywhere on the perpendicular street. I waited for the V1G2 to lose the signal and then turned around to head back. The V1G2 picked up the Ka source again on the 90 degree off axis, the Redline didn't pick it up until I turned back onto the street of the source.

I then took the Redline for a BSM test through traffic. It did really well EXCEPT for the HONDA BSMs in the 24.2xx range. It alerted twice to Honda during my drive.
I would rate it slightly worse than the V1G2's BSM as well during this one test.

The arrows on the Redline were really bad. I mean really bad. They were extremely slow to transition *IF* they transitioned at all (hopefully this is something they can tweak in software to make better).

Things just get worse and worse for the RL360. It wouldn't be a big deal if it weren't for the $750 price tag. But for that kind of money, I would expect at least equal performance (range) to the current top dogs, the V1 and R7.

Thanks for your testing @BagNDrag ! I'm trying very hard to keep an open mind because I still love my Redline-O's and always will, and my V1G2 also quit yesterday, but I am disappointed so far in the new Redline 360. I sure hope they can work some firmware magic pretty fast! Maybe someone will get a "hot" one soon!

Thanks as always for testing and sharing your results....I'm like you pulling for this thing but from all early reports it does not look like the Redline name is going to once again regain the long distance crown...

Might have missed since I am viewing thread on phone, but can you share settings of the R360c in this test...

Me too. My Redline O was a beast. I wish I had kept it so I could have done a comparison test on this same course.

My money is on the Redline-O! All 3 of mine will give my V1G2 all it wants and @VariableWave 's R7 as well!

Thanks for the great testing, presentation and write up. Really well done and easy to understand.

Well the numbers don’t lie. It’s becoming a trend.

The R360 might be a great detector if you stop looking at the price... or the claims Escort has made.

Performance wise, it’ll probably save you from a ticket, which is the main thing..... but so will the others at a lower price point

Thanks so much for the test! Bummer to see the performance and arrow effectiveness. Apparently those are both supposed to improve with the next firmware update. I sure hope so...

Also, did you run segmented? I recently found out that it DOES help performance with the RL360c.

You bet! Interesting about the Segs... I was running Superwide. Since I don't have the new firmware, I'll run tests this weekend with Segs...

Well done and appreciated. It's good to have clear data points so soon so we can check the progress as Escort keeps trying to push updates.

Still rather surprised that its best didn't beat the G2's worst. It was close though but just not enough. For what should be a good horn I'm curious how it fell short.

Agreed. It will be interesting to see what the results are with the unit seg'd. I'm also hoping that they can give us an option to turn off some of the Ka filtering to gain some range too. Give us anything, please...

Right. Some sensitivity testing would be great as well to benchmark between now and then. I would be curious to see it's reactions to love taps in the course.

But why on earth would you set up a magnificent launch, make amazingly bold claims, start sales immediately, and then ask for a mulligan when your unit's price-vs-performance immediately looks like a joke when compared to a V1G2 or an R7 and claim "no worries, it just needs a new firmware?" Did they not think anyone would try to validate their claims?

I just don't get Escort. People can rag on Uniden, Valentine, Radenso, whatever you want. But regardless of whatever problems those companies have, at least they don't seem to pull this BS like Escort conveniently does each time.

Oh geez,if they spent as much money on their development and testing team that they do on advertisement and the money to pay for someone to write some fantasy expectations this detector could detect a cop running radar in mars.

Like seriously, if I was a scientist working for Escort I would just quit and run into a cave in shame.

How does a company like Uniden that until last year was considered a radio shack style of company. One that sold CB radios, and other electronics out of the sudden surpased specialized companies like Valentine and Escort.AT least Mike dusted off his thinking hat and cought up after a few months of suspense and in some ways even surpassed Uniden. But Escort comes out with their detector and it flunks in a spectacular manner.

Someone in Escort should had pulled the plug on the release of this product until they could produce something that was AT LEAST equal to the current top dogs and then sell the price on the other gadgers like Wi FI and real time alerts.

Echoes of Max 1, Max2 and Max360. Heck, even the Max 360 CIA was touted as the greatest remote install ever made. Gotta love their marketing department.

Well, there is that! Wait a damn minute, what about ole' Nelly?
Old Nellys been in a box for about 4 years. Uniden shot that horse.
