I have to wait & see how good it is before I put down $650 or more. With all of the new detectors that have come out in the last 6 months to a year I think Escort had to come up with something. That's what keeps me guessing. Is this a really new detector or a Red Line EX with some added features? Lets see how it performs.

$650 is Max 360c money. I'm guessing this'll cost even more since it's based on a more expensive platform, adds stealth, and maybe longer range? We'll have to see how the BSM filtering is on it since that may wind up being an advantage to the Max's platform.

Great point about Theia though, especially if this costs even more.
= $700 minus 1

What if it has zero BSM falses...? ;)
Well that would mean that the pandemic has suddenly worsened and there are no other cars on the road.

Oh darn, I'm really busy these days but will have to make time for my traditional parody song as Escort is releasing a new detector.

I’m not brand loyal so I‘m interested to see what they have to offer and I have only been back to detectors long enough to read about the issues but not experience them personally. Other than my R7 not having autolockouts.

A detector with range like the R7 and V1G2 with arrows, good BSM filtering, and GPS features to auto lockout as well as be updatable with WiFi to access updates and cloud data. Well, it sounds pretty interesting to have all of that in a self contained package. If the V1G2 had GPS I would have one on my windshield. I see the BSM filtering is better than my R7 with range to match. I might still consider one just to try it out but just have not been pulled away yet.

I doubt this will solve everything and so I will stay on the list with Radenso but I am interested to see what it looks like at least. Nothing wrong with getting a look before I say for sure its a no. My main goal here is range and quietness. I only want to know when I need to know and I want it in a package that does it all in one if possible.

Redline EX needs arrows, better filtering and better range. So arrows are coming let’s see how it does on the filtering/range. On the one hand I hope it nails all 3 and I buy it. On the other hand if it's just a Redline EX with arrows added and no improvements to the other 2 categories I’ll pass and save some money for once in my life.

Won’t really know anything till somebody orders and tests one and based on Redline EX versus original Redline range some may be cautious to order and wait for testing results first.

I’m willing to give up some distance for better filtering but if it’s a substantial drop I think I have to pass and stick with R7 and the original Redline as my main 2 detectors I currently run as I'm mainly a highway speeder so range definitely helps.

Hope it’s good. But the track record over the last few years on firmware fix updates (lock up....etc) makes me stop dead in my tracks. I’ll pass. But I’ll enjoy the testing charts and graphs.

The EX is already a large detector....I have no idea how they could add a rear horn to front M3's without the detector being a foot long. Hopefully this is not just another "Max" iteration with "Redline" stamped on it. While not 100% visible in the teaser video, it looks like this new detector has the Jay Leno chin....I think it was @PointerCone who came up with that name? ;)

Gotta address stealth, range, and filtering. At this point, arrows are a necessary assumption. Hopefully, it won't be a marketing ploy without those points. They've got to respond to competitor range. If whatever this thing is holds up on range, they'll have something to stand behind, even if filtering lags behind the rest. We also can't get a device plagued with problems right out of the gate.

Anyone find any related patents? Device codes with horn numbers?

X2. I won’t be in any rush to get the Redline 360c based on the “bugs” and personal experience I have had with my Max360c. Take away the sleeping issue on my Max360c, and maybe I would feel differently.

I would imagine it will be a different platform and hopefully some performance improvements, but I would imagine the new Redline 360c will be in the $650-700 range, and I just am not interested at this time, but I too will enjoy seeing how it performs vs. the competition.

I'm stumped about this one. The original Redline was touted for RDD stealth and extreme range. Yes, it took BS/RDR to get to it's full performance potential but the Redline platform has always been built on the M3 platform and and emphasized stealth (Even Escort no longer touts "extreme range" for the EX). Is it possible that Escort has actually gotten off their @$$ and come up with something new? Or, did they panic in the face of the R7, V1G2 and pending Theia and just repackage existing technonlogy under the Redline name? Guess we'll see in a few days.

For Escort to survive this thing will need to be truly amazing.. if it does Redline range and reactivity with arrows and filtering, that will be pretty good. Unfortunately, the competition is already standing at that finish line, so they will have to do a bit better if they expect much buy in. A lot of us are recovering from our $500 and $600 V1 and R7 where they beat Escort to the punch.

Well the CEO as referenced in this thread https://www.rdforum.org/threads/96277/ did say they were working on something. I guess we will see just how dedicated to producing quality over the mighty dollar and rehashing old tech they really are.:question::question:

Stumps me too. As you said, the special purpose Redline-O (M3 horn) was known for 2 things. extreme range and stealth. The Redline EX (M3+ horn) kept stealth but dropped the extreme range to what now seems to be equal to or slightly above that of the MAX 360/360c, in favor of additional non-digital IVT filtering ("+" in M3+).

The only thing that would seem to make sense both using the current bin of available pre-patented models and keeping true to the current general purpose MAX vs special purpose Redline would be to bring back the Redline's prior extreme range, and then exceed it using M7 horn from the 360ci. That would also add digital filtering to what then could be referred to as a new Redline MAX. Given the size of the M7 front horn it would however seemingly disallow a rear antenna, and thus preclude arrows. If a new Redline did have arrows it could cannibalize the 360/360c. Also, there is no great calling for a stealth 360 from the 49 RD-legal state consumers . So an extreme range Redline MAX with the necessary all digital filtering would seem to make sense. Could toss in a "c" chip to allow connectivity, thus bringing it in line with the accompanying iXc and 360c.

HOWEVER, the teaser video shows something very different. A red line being drawn in a 360 degree circle and in the fade-out, it shows arrows, so I remain stumped too.

I have no faith in anything that company makes. I guess we all want to see a good product, but the company has consistently demonstrated marketing garbage over truth and performance. And the hostile deletions on their own forum continue. So what else can we expect?

I expect the same old, same old. Marketing to the uninformed masses who will buy based off of BS with a high price tag. After all, if it cost a lot of money, it must be the best...right? No, not me. Not again. Other companies have blown way past anything Cedar makes. I have no faith in this company.

I have a suspicion.
If Escort was now producing and selling the R7, what would that be called in it's line up?
Redline!

It checks all the boxes a Redline should do but cheaper.
So Escort can simply reverse engineer it with it's superior horns, add a bit more of stealth ability, use the FPGA out of the 360c and ta-da.
Extreme range Redline, a R7 horn married to 360c circuits.
And next release will be the 360c Plus with the R7 horn copy without the extra shielding.

Why invent anything when you can copy perfectly good designs into your system.
Doubtful the actual horn refinements in these detectors are patented.
