For the most part the speed limit is 75. I'll have an Escort Redline. I'll be eastbound, does anyone have insight on what to expect on this section of highway, particularly in Kansas?

It would be nice to be able to drop the hammer in KS.

I’ve driven half of that stretch a couple times, Denver to Oakley KS. All I have seen is C/O 35.5, and that was on 70 near Colby.

I'm not near there very often but here's the recent heatmap of that stretch. Looks pretty mellow to me.

Bloovy, I'm going to show my ignorance. What exactly am I looking at?

Thanks

The purple line between Denver and Kansas is not showing any brighter colors. (I honestly didn't expect it to) You can see that there's lots of enforcement in and around Denver though which shows the most with the color white. (Lighter the color = more reports)

This is a recent heatmap based on reported enforcement. :)

Last time I was on that trip (last year) pretty mellow. However slow down when you do approach a town. With the virus thing not sure what enforcement would be like. We passed a county sheriff on I-70 wife was driving and she was doing psl +9...he didn't bother us.

Former Colorado resident for 20 yrs....I always drove 10+ speed limit (with WS detector) during day & posted limit at night (chase rabbit when I could). Now that we have a pandemic & all cities speed enforcement revenues have shrank (good news is many auto insurance companies have given rebates due to less driving=less MVA's).....speed enforcement has increased in Kansas City area. Sure other municipality's will/have stepped up their game!! 😉

If it's during the day, in both CO and KS everything will be well marked on Waze. The CSP is more prone to setup sneaky LIDAR traps at the top of exit ramps and bridges. I've never seen LIDAR traps on I-70 in KS, just I/O. As flat as it is I've never missed an I/O shot on I-70 there. I usually cruise upwards of 90. It's pretty much all 75 MPH now.
