At this point, I have only used the V1 app on my daily commute and a few errands around the metro. I did one trip to Dallas from OKC.

However, in May I will cover 3K+ miles covering 6 or more states so how will this impact my iCloud storage? I do want to keep GPS lockouts not only in OKC but also in these other states as I do this trip two times a year.

BTW, I am running the V1 app in the background and so it only takes 6% of my battery.
@F15, I think you already know, but V1Driver does not use any iCloud space as you drive. Only when you do a backup.

How many pins do you have?

P.S. you could put those two iDevices on separate Apple ID's and they would get 5GB each. Then you can put them in the same family to share app purchases.
Only drawback with this is, in-App purchases are not shared. Grrrr. I understand why they do this (namely for buying tokens on games), but on Android in-App purchases were shared.
But it still may be cheaper than paying for more iCloud.

I wish Apple would give you 5GB per device (even if shared ID, that would be fair and encourage having more iDevices).

Re: Looking for iPhone Beta Testers for new App !!

    I have 405 records.

All the pins on my daily commute are blue, however I will want to back up the GSP lockout from the open road driving in May so I was trying to estimate where this is going.

Unfortunately, I must keep the same Apple ID for my two iOS devices as they are critical to my international travel like Rome on Monday then on to Palestine at the end of the month.

You could delete the blue pins (demoted) if you wanted to.

And on a long highway trip I'll bet you won't gain all that many pins. It's the slow dense populated areas that generates most pins (Driving by malls etc.).
You will get some blind spot monitor "One Hit Wonders" but you'll have to wait a good few trips so that true fixed falses get promoted to locked out before you can isolate the one hit wonders and delete them.
The Blind Spot Monitors should rarely ever promote.

There is currently 96 bytes per pin of data. But that data is indexed and I don't know the space cost on that. Say 16 bytes.

So your 405 pins is using about 45K. Note cloud backups are dual, because of "time machine". So about 90K of your 130K is your 405 pins. Rest, is fixed overhead and settings.
It may increase in size, in chunks.

You have 5,000,000 KB of space. 10,000 pins would use 2.2MB (~2 floppies) which is about 0.045% of your 5GB Cloud.

ONE compressed medium quality photo equals about 10,000 pins.

Re: Looking for iPhone Beta Testers for new App !!

I had a very strange incident today. Driving home tonight, as I was approaching my GPS locked out areas, my V1 completely went silent, no audible warning, no arrows, no strength indicator, nothing, just "big C". There are typically two stationary speed signs I drive by everyday but no reply from the V1. I actually drove out of my way to see if it would pick up anything, but it didn't. So I pulled over, restarted the car and the app, and then suddenly my V1 was restored back to life and received all of the indications that a normal stationary speed sign should get, it was almost as if the V1 had shut off K band on its own even though it showed the Big C. Any ideas? It was only in the GPS muted areas that I could tell and this was the only time that I have seen the V1 do this.

All I can suggest is keep an eye on it and see if a pattern emerges.

What ever happened with your random alerts from a while back? Still just a couple at start up?

Battery and CPU Stats for V1Driver

    CPU Disconnected Trying

CPU Multiple Alerts in Foreground (note the scale on the chart, peak is 13% CPU)

CPU Multiple Alerts in Background (note the scale on the chart, peak is 5% CPU)

    CPU Connected Idle (Foreground)

    Battery Connected Idle (Foreground)

    Battery Connected Idle (Background)
This is labeled high because it uses a lot for a background task (while connected).
It's still only using 1% CPU and GPS. But that is considered high usage.
This is exactly the same usage as the image above. But it's graded differently for background

    Nice Graphs!

I will keep tabs on my issue, kinda weird and only time I've seen it. I pretty much figured out random alerts are junk the V1 is sending at startup, whether it be a notification at startup or an actual frequency on the display page, I just ignore it now. I have figured out though that this only occurs when you start up the car. If you power cycle the V1 on its own, these junk notifications or frequency display don't occur. So there is something with it getting power immediately from an outside source at startup, rather than using the on/off button on the V1. I have also been able to confirm that the many disconnect notifications that I and others have been getting, even though it still says V1 online in background mode, are as a result in the loss of GPS losing its signal than reacquiring it again. So if you see 4 or 5 disconnect notifications in a row, it's because the GPS is flickering between online and not online even though app will still say V1 online.

What do you mean GPS is flickering between online and not online? You mean GPS Accuracy going above and below accuracy threshold? That should not cause a disconnect.
Even if the GPS itself goes offline, which I've not seen yet but I'm sure could happen in a tunnel or something, that should still not generate a disconnect notice. Especially on this last version.
I'll try to force my GPS off line and see what it does. Have to find a cave or something
The only thing that causes a disconnect is losing the V1 or losing the Dongle. Note if either of those are lost, I shutdown GPS and send a disconnect message !!
See comments below on your other issue. The Brown Out Buster might help this issue too.

Send me a Log file of this happening.

Also I don't like that it has garbage on each boot (car start). Electronics doesn't like jagged power ramp up. It likes a smooth steady ramp up. You might be lucking out with just garbage on each boot and *POSSIBLY* locking up once in a great while.
If everyone got that I'd be less concerned. Power might be a little funky coming off the ODB port too.
Does it get garbage frequencies on Car Start when using Valentine App on iPhone or for that matter since you have it what does YaV1 get during this car start?

If this is a problem you could drop the Hardware Savvy and try wiring it conventionally or even better try adding V1 Brown Out Buster (it's trivial to install $25.00 free shipping).
In fact I just ordered one for myself, since I keep recommending to folks I should probably have one. If it doesn't work you can send it back (I assume).

These should BOTH get fixed. Don't put up with either for a solid, reliable setup. Either of these issues might cause the V1 to lock up.

Re: V1Driver iPhone/ios BETA Project - Version 1.29 is in Apple REVIEW

I use it with the Brown Out Booster and it works great. I had some connection issues when used with auto start-stop system but I feel the connection is most reliable when used with the booster.

Mswlogo. What a great app. Looks like YaV1 might have met its match. One of the greatest deficits for me with the V1 is the lack of clearly distinct sounds or voice announcements correlating to each radar band: X,K and KA. Is there any chance you may add this feature
